Early 2000s R&B, Delicious Arancini, But A Pizza Bowl Letdown at Pizzeria Da Leo in Wembley Pizzeria Da Leo in Wembley isn't just another pizzeria - it's a vibe! The warm lighting and early 2000s R&B soundtrack instantly transported me back in time.
Our meal started off strong with perfectly cooked arancini boasting a delightful parmesan and tomato sauce coating. These were golden fried balls of deliciousness!
The burrata pizza, however, was a bit of a party pleaser (or not). Half of our group loved the generous amount of fresh burrata, while the others found the pizza a tad undercooked, resulting in a bit of sogginess.
Here's where things went south. We were craving a classic linguine alla marinara, but our server insisted we try the trendy pizza bowl. We caved, and let's just say it was a big mistake. The pizza bowl lacked the garlicky punch we were expecting, and the prawns seemed like they came straight out of a can - mushy and flavorless. The pizza base itself didn't add anything special and just became soggy in the broth.
Overall, Pizzeria Da Leo has a great atmosphere and some delicious menu items, but the pizza bowl was a miss. Stick to the classics or try something besides the hyped dishes, and you will just have a fantastic Wembley...
Read moreWe went there for a birthday, we booked a table(inside) at 7 45pm and still had to wait till 8 20pm to get sit down(outside). The waitress literally didn't look she wanted to be there serving us, we asked for a vegan pizza and she said they couldn't make it's, they can only add it on top of the other cheese or just don't have cheese lol. Then When we asked for a dessert(the special pizza with Nutella), after we've been waiting another 30 minutes, she said the kitchen was closed and they only could make tiramisù. We asked why she didn't tell us before as your are supposed to do when you close the kitchen and she said" we were too busy, sorry! ". So we just got the tiramisù(made with whipped cream🤌 ) and we were still eating when she came to us saying" guys we are closed, i give you couple of minutes" and she walked inside the restaurant saying to her colleagues "i told them they have to go away" in a super rude way without thinking we could listen to her and understand italian. So yes the food is good but the service was more than bad. The take away option is probably a...
Read moreDon't go to this pizzeria! It's addictive. You'll start with a simple margherita, and soon you'll end up trying the whole menu. You'll think you can quit whenever you want, but if you go a few days without it, the crisis will begin. I was away from Perth for 2 weeks, and I thought I could satisfy my craving at any pizzeria, but since I tried pizzeria Da Leo, my life hasn't been the same. Nothing satisfies me; it's never enough. Today, I ordered 1 pizza and 1 calzone to surprise my wife who was coming home late from work, and guess what? I ate it all, one after the other, thinking only about satisfying my carb cravings. When my wife arrived home, I had already hidden the boxes and gone to bed pretending to be sick to avoid arguments. I know she knows about my problem, she knows where I spend all my savings, but we prefer not to talk about it, partly out of shame, partly out of discomfort, and resentment is growing between us. I'm not only ruining my health but also my...
