I went with a friend for a coffee and it was the only coffee shop open late on public holiday. I like drinking my coffee from the takeaway cup. So I ordered 2 coffees in takeaway cups, but to serve it there. The coffee was very good, strong and tasty, but the price of the coffee on public holidays was a bit short of $7 for a regular (medium) cup of flat white.
They served our coffee at the table pretty quick with the takeaway cup on a little china plate but no serviette or spoon to stir my sugar in. Short time after we got our coffees, in about 10 minutes, a waiter came to ask if she could take the china plates to wash. Not long after, they start brushing the floor near us, on the row between tables and even under our feet. This was very rude, like they were pushing us out of the shop. If they didn't want us to serve the coffees on the premises, they should let us know when we ordered that the store closes in 20 min and i wouldn't order there. If i would want a coffee to go, i would buy it at McDonalds not at an expensive...
Read moreThis place does a great breakfast; So good I went every morning for several days in a row. The last time I went there was with a friend, who ordered the same thing as me. His food came out (despite me ordering first), our drinks came out…and I’m waiting…and waiting…friend finishes food and I’m still waiting. Approached the counter about it politely and they went through their old tickets while I returned to the table. More waiting. Drinks are empty. Waitress comes up and rudely asks me to show the transaction where I paid for a breakfast. Showed it. They try to point to my friend’s empty plate as the one I had paid for. So we offer his transaction as well. She leaves and more waiting as they search for the ticket. Then a different person comes with a barely there apology. More waiting then a rushed, smaller version of the breakfast arrives missing the butter. No further compensation to make up for the accusations, mistake or long wait. Disappointing experience after eating...
Read moreThis used to be one of my favourite cafes at Carousel. Every time I visited I got a large latte. I've worked my way through numerous loyalty cards. On my visit today when I went to redeem my third free drink (meaning I've purchased 30 drinks) I was told I couldn't redeem it for a large latte and had to pay extra. This has never been the case before. I've handed over approximately $250 in drinks alone (not counting any food I've ordered) and you're going to argue with me over $2. When I explained this has never been the case before I was told that new management have changed the way the card works in the last month. If that's the case I'm all good to make sure I only order regular going forward so my reward equals what I normally order. But you would think you would at least honour how the card worked previously for my last free one as a courtesy for an obviously loyal customer. For the sake of $2 they've now lost a customer plus all the friends I brought...
