SERVICE WAS ATROCIOUS; absolutely disgusting.
The 2 stars they received because of the decent tasting food, affordable/varied menu and late night hours.
But honestly, we only went because they were the only ones opened that late.
Long service time: It took forever for someone to come serve us, and I thought they were maybe understaffed at that hour, but no they had 3 wait staff on hand. For whatever reason, our food arrived a lot later than another couple that ordered after us. When the food finally came out, it was all wrong. We asked for the food to come out whatever first, they still waited for everything to be cooked together, causing some dishes to be cold.
Waitress was rude: Interrupted us and was impatient in take our orders. Didn't really have answers to our questions either.
Kitchen closed without informing guest: We told the waitress we were wanting to order dessert after we ordered the mains. But she took our menus anyways. And as our food came later, we ended up eating later. When we went to order our dessert at 10.31pm we were abruptly informed that the kitchen had closed. No apologies no offers of cake (that was on display) just a flat out nope. Offering alternatives is in service 101. The waitress again just wanted us out the door. She then said sorry kitchen closes at "10pm"
No apologies, compensation, or sincerity: When I went to confirm this with the manager, as I had called earlier to check of kitchen close time. She said that the waitress was correct the kitchen closed at 10.30pm. I said the waitress said 10, so clearly she wasn't the most competent. The second thing I reiterated was that any well respected establishment would notify their STILL EATING guests that the kitchen was closing soon, and if we had any last orders. They debated and said "It's clearly stated on our website so you should've have checked." I told them this was due to the waitress not remembering that we wanted dessert, and not informing us that the kitchen was closed. But the manager just kept saying, no there's nothing they could do, again. So, I resolved and asked if we could atleast have the cakes on display, offering and alternative to the problem they created, and they said they could. Why did they not offer this to begin with? Then manager said "Is this okay now?" To which I replied, well no it's not because I said I wanted hot dessert earlier, and now we can't have them, so of course it is not okay. Only when I was visibly getting frustrated at their incompetence is did she say "I'm sorry for that"
When we went to pay the manager didn't apologize, didn't offer us a discount, or even say they would letting the staff know and notifying their patrons, nothing of the sort, no resolution. Altogether very unprofessional, incompetent, and frustrating. Hopefully I never have to come back - I'll brave the Maccas run rather than pay for a 'sit down restaurant' with worse service than my...
Read moreFriday 26th September 2025 ( Carousel Cannington) Came in about 9.10am . Ordered the Duffel Coat wich is 3 creaps , whipped cream , ( strawberries 🍓) compote sauce and caramel sauce . There where only 5 half strawberries not whole half just to make it clear it cost $17 premium. Now I went and suggested as I payed for my order to put more strawberries on the dish . I have concerns when the young lady said oh the reason why is because strawberries for a punnet is $4 so it is expensive so they don't put many on . I understand she is going to be biased as she works there and is trying to justify but as I explained that we pay a premium for them to buy or order strawberries no matter the cost the Cafe pays . There should be a little bit more than 5 little half pieces of strawberries on this dish since we are paying $17 wich covers the costs to buy the inventory. I am not trying to put the establishment down but just a kind word to not be stingie but if cafe 63 cooks are going to be doing shrink flation I will not be back . And also for the female server to admit they are purposely shrinking the size , it is rather concerning. They do make nice coffee but the food is hit and miss . The menue really needs to be cut back and revised , too much on the menue . And I bet a lot of it doesn't get ordered by customers which is just costing the business money in there food ordering and wastage . The service is mostly friendly but being in hospo it can be draining as dealing with people can be...
Read moreSummary: We went for breakfast today, the food was great but the customer service was not acceptable. Lazy waitress (Jesse) and laughed at by the server (Stephanie) when we said we wanted to make a complaint.
Detail: We were greeted by the waitress Jesse who showed us to a seat, but we asked politely to be seated up the back in an empty booth where it was quieter. This table like the rest of the empty booth’s was covered in dirty plates and glasses. The waitress seemed very reluctant to oblige, as she clearly didn’t feel cleaning tables was in her job description - as was continually evident as she ignored dirty tables and left them for someone else to pickup. After waiting to be served for over 10mins where our waitress walked around ‘looking’ busy and taking orders from customers who arrived after us, chatting to her colleagues for extended periods of time and clearly ignoring the eye contact we made several times, we went to order at the counter. She then immediately saw us and wanted to serve us. To me it seemed she was annoyed we made her do some real word and ignored us deliberately. Food arrived quickly and was very tasty, see photos. When we were paying, my partner said she was unhappy with the service and wanted to make a complaint when Stephanie laughed at her and said “your welcome”. Not sure if a language barrier or just plain rude.
In a big and extensive food precinct like Carousel shops, you need more than tasty food if your business is going to...
