Sun breakers was an overall good experience although some meals were disappointing. Clean and open, quiet yet spacious. We arrived on time and there was no one to greet us or seat us, we approached a staff member who pointed us to someone else who came over and seated us. The menu is massive with a great variety and reasonably priced. Within eight (8) minutes the waitress came over four (4) times to ask us if we were ready to order. We hadn’t had a chance to read the entire menu. There was four of us One had a seafood chowder as an entree, a large portion especially for entree size. It was a béchamel sauce?? And quite tasteless overall. The mains were, sauté fish, chips and salad, Again a large serving, the fish was cooked to perfection and great tasty chips and fresh salad. The chicken burger was fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection and a decent size. The beef salad was well done, tasty and fresh. The big let down was the steak sandwich It’s hard to find a good one. The steak was chewy, flavourless. A decent size serving with fresh salad and chips. As an ex-butcher it is always disappointing when the steak sandwich is tough and tasteless. The art is to have the steak outside of the fridge for at least 30 minutes before cooking, most restaurants walk into the fridge, grab a steak and then slap it into the hot plate, without salt or pepper, or any seasoning. I dare say this is what has occurred here. Even if it’s Scotch Fillet. If you serve a tough steak I suggest you slice it into thin strips so the patron can bite it without the whole steak coming out of the bun and hanging from their mouth slapping them in the chin. The desserts were really nice and a good size serving. There was a bit of a stuff up with our order but the staff were quick to correct it and apologetic. Well done to them. Coffees were good too. The staff overall were great though exuberant early. Nothing was too difficult and they were helpful. 3 stars only due to the seafood chowder being a béchamel sauce and the sad steak sandwich, had these two been better quality the rating would have been 4.5-5stars. Yes we would return as the menu is massive.

My Husband & I had Dinner at the SunBreakers Restaurant last night. The menu has plenty of amazing options & a great special lists at affordable prices. My husband ordered the beef Aussie snitzel with chips & salad & I asked for a small Lasanga & Mediterranean salad as I'm not a big eater. The Lasanga was a very generous size for a small but it was so delicious I managed to eat it all, my Husband's Beef Aussie snitzel was so tender & yum. Both of us were impressed & can't wait to go back. Our lovely waitress Maddy is a breath of fresh air, for a young girl, she's efficient knows the Menu & extremely friendly. You can tell she loves her job & she's good at it... Good on you Maddy you are an asset to The SunBreakers Restaurant 😊 Oh & although we were very full we couldn't resist Desert & took home Tiramisu & a Mixed Berry Cheesecake. Both Deliciously Yum 😋

This place is an absolute hidden gem! Food is delicious, service is outstanding, Friendly & Welcoming. Very attentative. Tuesday night family dining recommended. Ambience is perfect, Family friendly & down to earth. Portions are great 👍 highly recommend the seafood chowder & Garlic prawns. The salmon main was perfect, chicken fettuccine, Arancini, burgers, Lasagne, spaghetti bolognese, wedges...Everything our family ate tonight was delicious. We had 2 waitresses assisting us & it's been a long time as regular diners in Perth we have experienced this outstanding service. Great work ladies & compliments to the chef! We will be back with others. Photos do the food no justice & we were half way through some meals.

Can't comment about in-house dining, as my exp was with takeaway in regards to apartments below...

A previous reviewer suggested "the chef should be fired"... I'm not quite there yet, but the kitchen is certainly letting rest of team/restaurant down.

Ordered VIA website (for pickup) - after 40 mins, get an email ... "restaurant is unable to forfill your order in a reasonable time, order has been cancelled" - call up restaurant, they apologise and say they can still do order (+ deliver to our room).

Initial order placed at 7:45pm - food delivered at 8:55pm (5 mins before closing).

Our meals were of very poor standard (rushed, and prob due to closing at 9pm).

Baramundi had a dark brown outer coating (cooked too long?), inner flesh was dry/rubbery, and meat didn't have that distinctive "barramundi smell/taste".

Spaghetti bollanaise was also bland, with absolutely no taste to it at all.

Service staff that delivered the meal, deserve heaps of credit - if it wasn't for them, would prob have given 1 star.

Lastly, feel that mandurah apartments should have your menu printed out in each room, so we don't need to go looking online (apparently, "room delivery" is...

I had the worst meal that I have ever been served at a restaurant. My wife and I attended two nights ago to celebrate a special occasion. I ordered the chef's special - a fish dish costing $36.00. When it was delivered to the table my wife commented that it looked like a cow pat and when I tasted it, it tasted as I imagine a cow pat to taste.

The fish, as I was told, was sea barramundi. It was supposed to come on a bed of mashed sweet potato and to include fresh asparagus. The mash was more like a runny paste and I never found the asparagus.

The fish was so foul tasting I gave my wife a piece to taste. She found it hard to swallow the small portion I gave her and offered me some of her meal (that was OK) as she said no-one could the fish I was served as it was so foul tasting. I ate very little of my meal. Being a special occasion for my wife and I, I didn't want to spoil the night further by making an issue of the matter.

Truly the worst meal I've ever had at a restaurant. We wont visit...
