It looked good...sort of. We were drawn to it by the books to be honest. I am a seasoned, random eating establishments punter from way back so I did notice there were a lot of empty tables and chairs- which is always a bad sign. The food and drinks here are very, very expensive for what they are. It was predominantly healthy menu items that sounded pretty good, but the food didnt live up to the standard of the price of it unfortunately. We ended up splitting a sandwich between us and it could not have been more disappointing. I think from memory it was around ten dollars, maybe eleven. I thought that we would be blown away by it at that price. I was sorely mistaken. It was four fingers of different sandwiches that each had a texture of either too mushy or too dry and the tuna one was just gross. Even my husband couldn't eat it. And they cut the crusts off so you get even less sandwich. It's almost criminal. But to put into perspective I guess, it is in north Perth and the clientele seemed to be mostly older people, wealthy older people who can afford $11 crustless sandwiches and $10 smoothies and more expensive than most coffees obviously. Actually, I'd pay happily whatever for the coffee probably as the coffee was quite delicious. The staff were friendly, i didnt like the atmosphere though. We wont be back and I...
Read moreA cool little cafe & bookstore that I was excited to check out. The selection of books was a bit disappointing - we didn't buy anything. Then thought we'd have some lunch. The toasted sandwiches are $15 which I thought was a bit on the expensive side but thought they were probably well made with a good amount of quality fillings. My daughter got a simple ham and cheese... There was 1 single slice of the thinnest ham you have ever seen - you could pretty much see through it and the cheese was nothing special on some plain brown bread . To say it was disappointing was an understatement. I honestly don't know how you can justify charging that much money for a toasted sandwich that probably cost you about $2 to make. I understand there are overheads involved in cafes but this is completely taking the p*. I definitely...
Read moreI'd been wanting to visit the Bodhi Tree for ages having heard stories about how good it is and finally went this weekend but was a little disappointed. It wasn't busy yet the service was slow and we didn't find the staff as friendly as I thought they'd be in a place like that. They actually forgot my partners order but when it finally came out, they gave him a raw dessert ball for free. The food was nice, if not a little expensive for the raw food sweets and I was disappointed that the tea was served in a bag, not loose leaf. Again, for a place like that, I thought they'd serve loose leaf tea. I doubt I'll go to the cafe again. Been there once and...
