Location, location, location is the only thing that keeps this place operating. The service is nothing short of a joke and the food quality when it eventually comes is second rate pub grub. As a table of 4 we arrived at 6pm and placed our order at 6:10pm. There were no entrees just mains which consisted of 2 orders for Atlantic salmon, 1 order for Dardanup 250gram Eye Fillet (med to well) and 1 order for 350gram Angus Rib-Eye on the Bone (med). We ordered some wine which came promptly. At approximately 7pm we noted that other customers who had arrived after us were being served their main meal, so we questioned one on the wait staff, who assured us our meal had not been forgotten and they would check with the chef. After a couple of minutes the waitperson returned and stated "because the rib eye is slow cooked it takes about 45 mins (mmm what a load of #$^&^*) and our meal would be served in a couple of minutes. At 7:15 the manager came to the table and stated "I'm sorry sir but the rib eye has been overcooked and would you like to order something else"? The other 3 meals were served at this time. I asked how long it would take to cook another steak and she replied "10 min" (really not 45mins, strange that). About 7mins went by and the steak was served. So now lets cretic the meal, One Atlantic salmon meal was cold, the Dardanup steak was overcooked and not A la carte standard or presentation and the Angus Rib was rare. The Angus Rib eye came with Macaroni cheese which I believe came out of a packet (very obvious reconstituted cheese taste) and the pressed potato was nothing more than potato bake. This place does not deserve anyone's custom and if it weren't for the location and the Performing Arts shows it would not survive. This is not an A La Carte restaurant by any stretch of the imagination. Do yourself a favour and get a meal down the road at the local, it's half the price, served on time and it is value for money....
Read moreI totally appreciate today was Crab Fest and the restaurant would have been busy, running a new seafood menu for the occasion. The waitress we had servicing us at the start was lovely and our squid starter came out quickly.
Then we were waiting almost an hour for our mains. The waitress chased up the kitchen before she finished her shift.
We obviously got forgotten about because when we chased up the other waitresses; they indicated chefs had gone on a break and they had a big wedding party coming in.
My partner got served a scotch fillet, which was clearly not 250g nor cooked to medium rare and was chewy, full of fat & hard to cut. I got my crayfish mornay, which was meant to come with chips & salad as per the specials menu. Instead it arrived with rice & salad. I had three mouthfuls of my crayfish and touched nothing else on my plate, whilst I was waiting almost 15 minutes for chips, with no end in sight; after a lot of chasing as the crayfish was getting cold.
A waitress eventually called the Manager, who was unapologetic. She cut the steak in front of my partner; insinuating that he didn’t know how to cut a steak and that there was nothing wrong with it.
We asked for a refund for our mains. She then aggressively took all of our plates away and only gave us a refund for equivalent of 1 meal. We had a baby with us, who was getting restless.
We were disappointed by the lack of care from the manager and all left hungry. Needless to say, we won’t be...
Read moreA little disappointing overall. As recommended we booked 90 minutes before show at the ManPAC, along with everyone else. The evening started well with orders taken promptly and drinks delivered. It then took another hour for our entrees to arrive. We must have been asked 5 times if we wanted more drinks in that time but no apologies or explanation for delay given. Another 25 minute wait for mains that eventually arrived 20 minutes before start of show. In the end my husband wolfed his meal down so he could then join queue to pay whilst the rest of us tried to eat quickly. My daughter didn't have time to finish her meal. The food was OK. The chips were great, but my salad was drowning in far too much dressing. Whereas we appreciate that it was a busy night but we made it clear at being seated that we had tickets for the show and ordered quickly. If there was going to be a delay getting food maybe we should have been advised to just order mains. Alternatively, if the kitchen can't cope with pressure then maybe a set menu on show nights is the way to go. All in all a bit disappointing. It would have been made more tolerable if the many wait staff stopped offering us drinks and merely offered an apology.
If booking here before a ManPAC show I would give yourself longer...
