Don't bother. Any restaurant can make something taste good because of sauces and spices, but what about the taste of the item being flavoured? I felt so strongly about this I just had to review this, as it's another restaurant gone down the toilet and obviously cutting corners. My husband went there for lunch with work mates last week and came home complaining the food was tasteless, and we put it down to just having a bad day. But when we went Saturday night we both experienced the same issue again we knew this was no accident and a taste of how things are going to be from now on. My girl friend ate there today and had the same issue we did, and I became very upset by this I just had to review. This used to be one of my favourite places to go, but not anymore. I am very annoyed because it is very obviously about cutting corners. This place was always a reliable food spot for me, with a rich and complex taste experience, but no more. I will definitely be finding some where else to eat and for a foodie like me, it probably wont be hard to find in Wollongong with all of...
Read moreTerrible experience. Will never return. Mothers Day 25. My daughter and family and my wife and I plus son go out to celebrate not only mothers day but my wife's birthday. First there's a terrible wait but hey it's mothers day so you'd expect that.My SIL orders a glass of red and gets one with a very alive bar fly swimming in his glass so there's clearly a issue with bar flies in the servery area. They bring in a new glass but refill it this time at the table. Then the food arrives. I've got some pork thing with a tiny smear of mash. It's finished in like 2 mins and that's like 40 bucks. Everyone's meals are incredibly small. Then it's time to pay and they've charged us for two glasses of red. One glass was thrown out because of the bar fly. This develops into a bit of a heated argument with staff. Why are we paying for a glass that was returned ? So we get up to leave and when paying the staff still want to argue. That night my daughter writes a letter of complaint and what does the restaurant. Correct , nothing. They don't even reply. We will never eat...
Read moreI had the sourdough for entree and the twice cooked pork belly for main with a glass of red wine from the premium list (excellent). I was travelling alone and the matre d' squeezed me in with no reservation (tick). The service was unobtrusive and professional (tick). The atmosphere is OK, but screams budget church hall (which it is) with a lick of fresh paint and new curtains. The bread was warm and very good, but the pork belly was over salted to the point of being inedible. A lack of crispness to the texture suggested being sous-vide for too long, with poor attention to a final grille to crisp the skin. Presentation and plate up were on price point (aimed at fine dining), but the main course was disappointing. Would try again to give them the benefit of a second crack! Poor signage from the outside means it's hard to find. Heading straight towards the church that owns the restaurant may put some punters off as the restaurant is...
