I never really write a review but I decide I had to because of the unprofessional service that I have received. So on 6th January, I decided to give this restaurant a go. The food was good. Portion was on the small side. I went ahead at the cashier to pay. A gentleman was in front of me (Caucasian) offered to pay in cash. It was ~136 AUD in bill. The cashier (a waiter of East Asian background, glasses short) reduced the bill to ~133 AUD. I presume that he offered the customer a discount because cash payment was made. When it was my turn in paying, I asked whether there is a discount when paid in cash. He said yes. Another waiter (his colleague, female) also said yes. I paid. Only after payment, the cashier 'forgot' to give back my 50 AUD of change as I paid 120.60 AUD (attached was my bill). When I look at the receipt, I asked why I wasn't given the discount as you have agreed. His comment went to "if you pay cash, its cheaper than paying card as there is 2.5% surcharge". I complained that it was not what he told me and I told him off that I will not dine in again. None of the waiter, including the trainee (also a she) offered any assistance. I was neglected and no attempt of consolidation was made. Manager never came out. Very unprofessional service. I would have accepted that the first customer was a regular patron, but that was not what was offered. Highly discriminatory. If you go, only go for the food, do not bother with the service.

I walked by last night after dinner elsewhere and saw a lot of people inside this restaurant, so I decided to give it a try tonight. I ordered a Hainanese chicken rice plate ($15.90) and an order of Chinese kale ($13.90). Unlike other restaurants where I had my lunch dinner, this place does not give you any water unless you ask for it. The Chinese kale was a bit overcooked for my taste but it would have been perfectly tender for my elderly parents who don’t have a lot of teeth anymore. It was probably cooked in a pot of water and was served with oyster sauce. I wonder if I could have asked them to sautéed it with garlic and oil instead? Maybe that would have been better although this way would be a healthier way to eat it. The chicken for the Hainanese chicken was too meaty for me. It is definitely not free range chicken since it was very meaty but had no taste. The soup that came with it was too salty for my taste so I did not touch it anymore after 1 sip.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant since 2002, my youngest child was raised eating here ,, he’s now 22 years old … I’ve never really had any issues with the food until now … Not sure what the idea is with the crockery it’s oversized and looks more like serving plates … not ideal I think or maybe it’s to delude you from the shrinking portion of food served … my rice with my satay chicken was cold and appeared to be from the bottom of the rice cooker … The staff on tonight were either newbies or just weren’t in the mood to smile … I don’t know … and for sure I’ll be back again but tonight I would have preferred Tony’s chicken … Bring back the white plates …

Comfortable setting. Food was very nice. Hubby had a combination with special sauce, which was delish and I had the combination soup with wontons. The wontons were one of the best I’ve tasted and I could see the prawns in the meat. The veggies were super fresh and cooked to perfection. It’s just a personal taste thing, but I’m not a fan of really fishy flavours and there was some sort of soft, white, very fishy item in my soup. I just picked it out and from there is was perfect for me. Service was very friendly and prompt. I think we had our meals within 5-10mins of ordering. Prices were very reasonable and servings were very generous. We will definitely be back and will take our...
