The food was good which we appreciated. However the Service was terrible. There were 5 people working in service in this small establishment. Some of the food in the numerous feasts we ordered came out late, and parts of the feast didn't even come out we had to ask for several dishes that had been forgotten which were part of our feasts, although it was rectified we had to chase it up. We had to go to the bar to order drinks as we were not approached again after the first order upon arrival and it was near impossible to get a server's attention even though they were walking straight past us. Even when my partner went up to order a beer they told him they would bring it to him and 15mins later they had obviously forgot so he went up again and they cracked open the can and gave it to him. I had to request the table be cleared as our dirty plates were sitting there for a while and we wanted to do the cake. I could appreciate it if they were busy but the amounts of time I had to approach them at the bar or counter and they are just standing chatting with there backs facing the tables it just seemed a bit unorganised unprofessional and below par service. I mean we can understand there might be a backlog in the kitchen but this should be relayed to customers as it took a long time for the food to come out and we were all starving by the time all of our food did come out as we also had to chase up the forgotten dishes that were not brought out. It might just be that we were so hungry or what but I will say the food was really good and maybe with more training and awareness for the staff it will be a more...

Lovely restaurant. Food is delicious. Came in on Saturday with my husband only wanted to look at the menu and the young girl with glasses persuaded us to stay and order the original platter and some cocktails! The drinks were amazing! Had a Pineapple splice which was to die for and my husband enjoyed a lovely Long Island ice tea! Young girl with the glasses making the drinks with the young man were amazing and they really showed they loved making the drinks. Young girl always smiled and laughed with excitement every time she seemed to get a chance to make a drink which always put a smile on my face throughout the night and noticed she made the young man smile too! Not too sure about the older lady. No offense but half the time we over heard her criticizing everything the young girl was doing and we just didn’t think she was friendly with her coworkers. We noticed the two behind the bar getting stressed out every time she had something to say about what the young girl or man was doing wrong and I think that her negative attitude put a damper on things. She talked like she was better than the other workers. Personally I would say something if she was one of my employees. It’s like workplace bullying. Unacceptable.

Other than that we might definitely come back. The young girl was absolutely right about the original platter and drinks! Wish I asked for her name!...

We usually love the living room it’s our favourite place to go the food and service is usually amazing so knowing this I booked to have my 40th bday dinner here. It was an extremely busy night so we’re very understanding of how hard it was on the staff however the cocktails was the only positive, they were fantastic. We had booked prior but waited almost 30mins for our table. There was no where to wait except for in front of the door which was awkward and in the way of others entering and leaving, no offer of a complimentary drink or anything while waiting. We then got told we could sit at the table but that it wasn’t completely set up. Which we were fine with but the set up was never completed once we sat down, meaning later we had to request forks and so on. The food was not great especially the lamb. The dips were lovely thats about it. Disappointed after talking this place up to my friends! The service was not great except for a young guy who was working, didn’t catch his name but he was lovely and handled it well when we mentioned missing forks and so on. I would recommend if going to avoid busy...

Had the lamb feast for two, half charcoal chicken, zucchini balls and a cocktail. Cocktail was nice. Chicken was also quite good. Zucchini balls however were unpleasant. Not like regular zucchini balls. Basically just shredded zucchini fried in a ball, no dough at all. (See image below). Lamb was mediocre at best. A bit chewy and not very flavourful. (See image below). Plate of lamb included in the feast was smaller than expected, especially for something labelled as a feast. Roast potatoes were good, a little salty though. Atmosphere was okay. Staff gave us the wrong table for our booking even though we booked over two weeks in advance. Overall quite a mediocre experience, we didn’t even finish our food, we just took the rest to go after trying the lamb. Food is definitely overpriced as well. Quite disappointing.

Located on busy Keira St in Wollongong, the Living Room is a relaxed modern Australian restaurant with inspiration from traditional Greek recipes. The menu has familiar favourites including zucchini balls, Halloumi, spanakopita, and pita and dips, as starters. Mains include lamb shoulder, moussaka in both vegetarian and meat versions. Pork belly and char grilled barramundi. There are sides that include chips and a few salads. There are 6 options for desserts - Greek Almond butter cookies, baklava, orange cake, a boozy lemon meringue, Greek affogato, and baklava cheesecake. If you can't decide, there are feast/banquet options available. On this occasion, staff were busy and it was difficult to gain their attention, especially when paying the bill. The restaurant can get busy so it would be advisable to book.

An enjoyable evening at The Living Room with delicious food and plenty of it. The staff were great and our waitress was very friendly, explaining how the Share platters worked. We enjoyed a small family gathering and some of us shared the Ultimate Feast with mouthwatering roast meats, yummy cheeseburger dolmades and other assorted sides. So much food but very good quality. Other meals looked lovely as well. Drinks were a bit hit and miss but the restaurant was very busy so I think it was hard for the staff to keep up. The only downfall is that the noise levels can get quite high making it hard for conversations but it was a lovely night.
