Have been here a few times and had an 'okay' time. Wondering about on a Monday night, wondering what I should do. Wandered into somewhere called the Howlin Wolf or something, alright here we go, done this before. Walked in, sat down, apparently everyone there was from another bar called 'breakout' and were taking over for the night. "Great, here we go" I thought to myself. Ordered the first cocktail off the menu that looked a bit interesting. Bit tired, ready to leave... Cocktail arrives... First sip... ... ...
Upon touching my lips it established itself as the best alcoholic beverage I had ever consumed in my existence. Life won't be the same after this. In a drinking experience that I can only describe as floating through soft clouds I was quickly made aware that such liquids exist. The 'Kramers Cosmo', as it was described in English. Was so much more. It was more than just a cocktail. It was an awakening to a new transcendent level of flavour. Life won't be the same as before drinking this cocktail. The crew behind the bar were super friendly to the point where I forgot who was my mate and who was serving me.
Very few experiences in life have such an impact. But to say that this Monday night was a pivotal point in my life is by no means an overstatement. I'll never forget when the breakout crew took over the...

Howlin' Wolf attracts an eclectic crowd, from the alternative, fringe dwellers, to the Lads of for a few bourbons, to the Self-Funded Retiries who remember the fun they had back at bars like this in the 90's! ππ₯πΈπ»π·π
The bar's hidden down a small arcade off Crown Street (near Corrimal St). Although they now do simple bar meals, there's now also the recently opened Zeus Street Greek (also see my Review of this place) literally just across from the entrance.
So I'd highly recommend dropping into Howling' Wolf for a looong Happy Hour (4pm-7pm) then grabbing a Zeus Lamb Pita Wrap for...
Β Β Β Read moreI am a bit of a drinking connoisseur, and I have never been anywhere with staff as knowledgeable in their drinks as this place. To say huge range would be an understatement that just doesn't do them justice. They have everything from a little boring johnny walker up to over 120 dollar per nip virgin barrel aged 30 year old scotch. And anything and everything in between this aswell. Friendly staff, amazing value for money even with the ability to spend 100s per drink, great atmosphere in a quiet dimly candle lit setting with leather lounges surrounding the edge of the bar. I would almost make a trip to Wollongong just to spend time at this establishment again. Howlin' Wolf is my new...
