Every weekend me and my friends go to breakfast together order our food and coffees and then pay for our food individually. Never ever we had any issues wherever we go. Being local in Wollongong we decided this weekend to go to Nadia’s cafe Wollongong central. When we sat and BEFORE we ordered our food we asked the waitress that If we can pay for our individual food as we are 10 people, and the reason we asked her that we didn’t want any inconvenience for the staff. And she said, YES !! No worries you can pay all individually but make sure when you come to counter please come together so it’s easier for the person at the register. My friends paid for their food and when I got there girl who served me was so rude saying we don’t allow splitting bill, and that’s fine , but the worst part was when I was trying to explain the guy standing in the line behind me that I am not trying to jump the line and we are all friends together paying the bill, the girl at the register said to me “ DONT ARGUE WITH MY CUSTOMERS “ plus WE DONT SPLIT BILLS AND WE ARE ALREADY DOING YOU A FAVOUR “ I was like I am your customer as well !! What about me !! And she was like, whatever you wana pay or what !! Very rude and terrible attitude!! That was the first part!! Secondly, you are probably allowed to have bit of an attitude if you have great super delicious food.. I would rather have breakfast at home than paying $50 for cold eggs and soggy bread!! Terrible food and not worth the price at all.. and that on top of this rude service. I would have not said anything about food coz I believe whoever cooks the food , they try their best to make their customers happy and would have disregard the low standards of food, but after that terrible attitude and rude service of the girl at the register I will be going all over the social media to let people know what they should be expecting when...
Read moreI have never written a negative review before but this time I had to say something. My partner, I and my friends often visit this cafe but this experience came as a shock. I was humiliated and deeply embarrassed. I came in alone to have breakfast with a takeaway coffee from another cafe not realizing it wasn’t allowed. The older man with glasses in coffee..I’m not sure if he’s the manager/owner/cafe worker, came over and said “We don’t allow other cafe drinks,” then grabbed my cup without asking and put it into one of their cup and walked away. I understand policies about outside drinks but "How dare he just take my drink like that?" I would have been happy to throw it or simply put it in one of their cup if he had simply asked politely. But the way it was handled felt cold and disrespectful especially for someone like me with social anxiety. When I went to pay, he refused to even acknowledge me and called another staff member to handle the transaction which felt very cold and harsh. I've read other reviews about racial discrimination at this cafe and after what happened to me I can't help but wonder if this was the case. We won't be...
Read moreLove the food here but the customer service was just so bad. I have worked in hospitality and I know some days are harder than the other and everyone has their own personal issues that they might be going through but that cannot be a reason to project your frustrations onto the customers who were just asking a couple of extra questions before deciding on their order. The person on the counter had no manners and was starting to get impatient and rude. When I asked for some extra serviettes, there was no acknowledgement and they brought it to the table, dropped it off and just walked off with an attitude. When I was near the front of the cafe I overheard some of the staff behind the counter pass on comments (pretty racial comments at that) which was what shocked and disgusted me the most. The place does get pretty packed and tables are so close to each other that the wait staff kept bumping into my chair to pass through. I regretted not just getting a take away order and now I don't even know if I would ever want to...
