Flour — Restaurant in Yeppoon

Bit of a strange experience: as soon as we walked in, a very efficient waitress greeted us by telling us that if we only wanted coffee and cake, we could only stay 30mins. We sat down and she took our coffee order. She came back almost immediately to take our food order (we were still signing in for Covid and hadn't even looked at the menu) and after we said we needed more time, she literally gave as another minute before returning again and starting to try and guess what we might want to order ("would you like a burger?" etc.). We ended up ordering from the cabinet. Our coffees came out straight away as drinks seemed to be the kitchen's priority, but it took another 20 minutes or so for our food to be taken out of the cabinet and put on a plate, by which time our coffee was cold. As soon as we had finished eating, the very efficient waitress returned promptly to clear absolutely everything off our table. We felt like she just wanted to get us through as fast as possible. We didn't get any table water and I hadn't expected to pay $7.50 for a scone. The coffee was good though. I personally wouldn't recommend the place or...

Omg, where do I start! I work VERY close by so it’s an exercise in extreme restraint resisting the enticing aroma of sizzling bacon on a daily basis! One cannot live on the smell of bacon alone though so I do indulge at least once a week (in the spirit of supporting local business of course). For the past two years my absolute hands down go to has been the pumpkin fritter on their breakfast menu: think bacon, eggs poached to perfection, hollandaise sauce you’ll want to eat by the spoonful and this sensational spicy pumpkin fritter served with just enough spinach to convince your inner health guru that this is a perfectly healthy combination.

I’ve recently expanded my palate and tried something from their lunch menu and could very nearly say that the Eatz burger was in my top 5 of best burgers ever. Like seriously: EVER! I’d hate to make a hasty judgment call though so I will need to try it a few more times 😉

I enjoy catching up with friends here quite often but not gonna lie, most of the time I’m enjoying a takeaway at my desk! Easily my favourite cafe in Yeppoon.

Disappointing and rude end to a nice meal and a good morning.

We were passively aggressively moved on from the cafe with no explanation of why (until I asked upon paying) as apparently we had over stayed our time.

When I brought this up (politely) to find out why and suggest putting up a sign or explaining this earlier, I was loudly and rudely told “ok good bye” with no willingness to actually hear what I had to say by the staff member who moved us on. All this right after our money was taken.

There were 60% empty tables at this time and absolutely no need for this horrible attitude. A simple expiation or a sign saying 1.5 hour maximum would suffice. Especially considering we were spending good money there.

Needless to say that although the food was nice we will not be returning, nor will we be recommending Flour to any of our friends.

Terrible customer service really, if you can’t treat customers respectfully and communicate with them then perhaps hospitality...
