I wasn't sure what to expect coming to Yeppoon for two weeks but I was blown away by the new development that's been recently completed on the foreshore. There's a very secure looking revetment wall running the entire length of the beach to withstand any bad weather. From the Surf Club on the north side, the amazing amphitheater, the indigenous patterned water spouts, to the sailing club ending with the infinity pool lagoon, they are all first class. All with the amazing view over the beach to Kepple Island beyond. Behind the Lagoon is a covered skate park as well as two other play areas for younger kids. With soft, pale sand, this is almost 1.5 kilometres long and at low tide can be up to 300 metres wide.
At high tide thereās no beach at all, so naturally itās worth keeping an eye on the schedule.
Away from the deeper southern end, the surf is light and family friendly, and by the seawall backing the beach thereās a grassy reserve on the foreshore.

The beach is beautifully lit at night, and bustling. The parrots go a little bit crazy at sunset, but that can be overlooked. Hang around during high tide to dip your toes in without going onto the sand as the beach completely fills during then!
Thereās a water feature for children, a stage set up for performances which is beautifully lit, a playground, ammenities, and lots of restaurants.
