25/5: UPDATE! Walked in at opening time on a Saturday...The girl at the coffee machine had her phone propped up on the machine and was doing her hair in an instagram camera; and the guy was doing stuff at the back counter facing away... NOBODY SAID HI! Two other customers walked in straight after me and got the same treatment. Completely ignored - not even acknowledged. I feel sorry for the experienced waitress on the floor....she was serving 3 tables and she was the one who had to come and serve us.

Read moreWe visited this cafe as we were travelling through Young. The food and coffee were excellent. The café was let down by the service. We arrived at 3 and were told the kitchen was closed but we were welcome to chose from the cabinet. We did so but unfortunately we felt like the young woman who served us had already “clocked off”. We were not offered any serviettes or water and had to ask for both. The young woman serving us then went on to empty all the cutlery from the dishwasher 2 tables away from us in a loud way that would have been fine if no customers were present. Barista was lovely, but older guy with grey hair managing the place may have been having a bad day. When I passed on my compliments to the manager and asked him to convey these, I watched the manager go back to the counter and not say a word to the barista, then just bark some orders at the poor devil. A bit sad. Manager needs to remember that everything he does, including how he treats his staff, is on display and effecting the atmosphere of the cafe.
