Wilkies Cafe — Restaurant in Young

Wilkies Cafe stands out from the rest because of the inviting atmosphere. The interior had a rustic / industrials feel to it and I LOVED the giant real ferns. Well done to whoever takes care of those!

About the food. Super yummy and worth the price. I had a French Toast banana bread which was surprisingly not sickeningly sweet so I devoured that. My partner had eggs Benedict which looks great but I didn’t get a taste. He also smashed that!

The coffee is ok. I’d rate the food over the coffee considering the price point.

This was my 2nd visit to this cafe in almost 12 months and I was glad to see that their commitment to quality food and service has not finished during that time. The haloumi burger was excellent and they were very accommodating to the needs of my 5 year old and 10 year old. The price is a little on the expensive side but the quality is good. Having to cross the road to use the public amenities was the only drawback to this otherwise...

Lovely atmosphere and service. The food though was hit or miss. The chips were great. The pulled pork burger was okay but I didn't think it was normal.. Pulled pork. Maybe just a different cut and cooked differently with an overly sweet sauce and was a bit cool..so just a reheat job..which is funny as it was recommended as the chef's best burger. My friends big beef burger with the lot looked great but the patty was a bit overcooked...
