1881 À la Carte Restaurant — Restaurant in Bad Ischl

Location: situated in a quiet part of the Bad Ischl city centrum, nice open kind of a park surroundings, beautiful views.

Interior: modern simple scandinavian design, making your fine dining experience comfortable yet undisturbed, so you can be fully focused on the poetry served combined with wonderful views. Thanks to the huge floor to ceiling glass walls (removed in the nice weather) these views you can have from each and every table in the restaurant.

Service: highly professional but still human and friendly what makes you fell more than welcome. We were served by Greta who was really nice, willing, always wearing a wide smile so as the manager, who was serving the guests together with his team not avoiding any work.

Food: unbelievable and UNFORGETTABLE!!! A a starter we had a house bread (ciabatta) with a nut butter (never had better!) We were group of 6 and we assumed this by each and every course we were served. We had a calf back, roastbeef, different kind of the fish with vegetable sides, all perfectly made, flavoured, arranged. They have a nice variety of wines which we tried as well. Perfect coffee in the end finished with desserts. We had three different types of sorbets, again, never had better! Portions are moderate size which is great, if you want to enjoy also starters and desserts.

Overall experience: wonderful restaurant with haute cousine quality food, a perfect combination of surroundings, interior, views and most of all fantastic food and service. We will definitely come back, because this place is...

Ein kulinarisches Highlight - Unser Abendessen im 1881 À La Carte war ein wahres Fest für die Sinne.

Der Service war herausragend, das Personal durchweg aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Jeder Mitarbeiter strahlte Professionalität und Freundlichkeit aus, was zu einem rundum angenehmen Erlebnis beitrug.

Die Speisekarte ist spannend und unkonventionell. Als Vorspeisen entschieden wir uns für das das Sous-vide-Bioschwein mit Mango und Passionsfrucht (absolut empfehlenswert!), auch die Zucchinirolle mit Fischtatar und die marinierte Karotte mit Schafskäse sind eine geschmackliche Offenbarung.

Der Hauptgang konnte uns ebenfalls absolut überzeugen. Sowohl die Fleischgerichte (Lamm-Tajine und wunderbar zartes Bio-Beiried) als auch die Rote Rübe mit gebackenen Ziegenkäse-Bällchen für den vegetarischen Gaumen begeisterten uns restlos. Jeder Gang war ein Kunstwerk für sich, sowohl optisch als auch geschmacklich.

Den krönenden Abschluss bildete die Haselnuss-Tarte mit Salted Caramel und ein Cashew-Bananen-Traum mit Schokomousse. Die süßen Aromen waren perfekt ausbalanciert und das Dessert ein echter Genuss.

Auch die Weinbegleitung zu unserem Menü war hervorragend.
