The sauna here is top notch. The sauna masters are very lovely and helpful, and speak German, English and multiple other languages. There are many different saunas with different temperatures (30 degrees to 90 degrees Celsius), environments and scheduled “activities” for lack of a better word. For example, there is a 20 min 50-70 degrees Celsius sauna which gradually heats up, followed by standing in the cold winter air and drinking punch, or lathering yourselves with a cold mountain pine cream, followed by 10 minutes of the sauna at 80-90 degrees led by the sauna master. It is a nude sauna so come prepared. The clientele is typically over 60yo, but I’d recommend it to everyone.||||Unfortunately you have to buy the sauna in combination with the “spa”, which is a complex of warm indoor and outdoor pools (very family friendly but not any different from a public pool). All together it is €27.50 for both. The spa alone is €20 for 4 hours, the sauna is an extra €7.50 for an all day pass. Ignore the spa completely and go straight to the sauna. Also remember to bring your own towel or cop a €7 rental fee, and your own thongs/sandals. The sauna closes at 12am midnight...
Read moreThis hotel is one of the very few in Bad Ischl which have A/C!!!! The rooms are pleasant and very comfortable. The bar is located in the Lobby and very nice. In the afternoon you get a complimentory pastry which you can eat in the Lobby while sipping coffee or tea. Service is very friendly. Most people seem to opt for "Halbpension" which consists of breakfast and dinner. That seems to be the preference lately in Austria since a lot of hotels offer it. ||The hotel offers Spa packages which seem to be extensive. There is a pool and a sort of "lazy river" in the courtyard, so bring your bathing suits. ||We had dinner at the hotel and it was delicious, and included hors'd oeuvre, soup, choice of main dish and desert. ||The location is very convenient, it's very close - within walking distance - to downtown or the train station. If you come with your own car, there is free parking and...
Read moreMinus three stars due to restaurant/bar inside the Therms. According to info on door, kitchen here works till 8.30 p.m., entire restaurant - till 9 p.m. When we came at 8.30 p.m. to simply have 2 cups of tea we were told all is closed half an hour ago neaning at 8 p.m. But people were still sitting here. But there is nothing about it officially, no advert, nothing. But to boil two tea packets kitchen is absolutely not needed!
At reception also no info as they claim themselves nothing to do with restaurant.
So why service was not provided to us no one can comment. Dissappointed, I came here during several years prior. Really dissappointed. It's not client oriented approach.
To Therms also - overfilled, uncontrolled children diving and jumping in the lazy river, especcially inside the tunnels from the borders which is forbidden....
