We had just arrived in the center of Innsbruck when the Italian restaurant Il Gusto immediately caught our attention. The delicacies displayed in the window and the ambiance reminded us of our grandmother's house. Once you open the door, you have no chance to change your mind. The lady who serves you at the table simply captivates you, and her insistence goes slightly beyond the limits of good manners. You don't even get a chance to read the menu because she already decides for you what you should eat (which is usually the most expensive option). We had to repeat several times how and what we wanted to eat, as she was bothered by the fact that we didn't want more. We also ordered two glasses of "Lugana" wine, but I don't know what she brought us, it certainly wasn't "Lugana." Mr. Antonio, who was kind, prepared what we had ordered, and the exceptional food felt like a short escape to Italy. Initially, we thought that the lady was Mr. Antonio's wife, so we started talking to her. It turns out she is married, but not to Mr. Antonio, and she explained that she is from Turkey. The prices are very high, but that is to be expected for the quality of the food. Each person receives a menu and is aware of what they are ordering. The problem is that the lady who works for Mr. Antonio randomly asks if you want another bruschetta, or burrata, or a plate of olives, etc. If you don't explicitly explain that you don't want it, she fills your table with things you didn't order, and at some point, even you don't remember what you ordered. It's not a place where you necessarily feel comfortable, and they don't have a restroom, so they accompany you to the neighbor's place to use the toilet.
During our time there, we were surprised to see how most people fell into the trap of the lady and ended up paying 80-100 euros for things they didn't want or thought were part of what they...

We came with a group of teenagers to this 'pseudo-restaurant' immediately the owner greeted us by being nice and playing on the fact that we were also from Italy. He told us to sit down and after I asked him for the menu he brought it to us.... He didn't give us time to take a good look and decide calmly, telling us that he would bring us two trays of antipasti and then a pasta with gorgonzola and 'Nduia... He didn't ask us if that was ok for us.
He then returned with 4 trays of antipasti and a bruschetta each (made with old bread and moistened in oil).
Then before he brought us the pasta I asked him if he could tell us the price of what we had received so far, but he kept pretending like he didn't want to tell us.
So we insisted and in the end he presented us with a bill of 240€ for a few starters and 1 drink each. We then decided not to have any more pasta and to end this sad dinner.
These characters (in particular the boss) kept acting funny, as if they were making fun of us... the youngsters were disappointed and angry at the excessively high cost and the poor quality of the food.
I then pointed out to him that he had cheated us big time and he kept defending himself and saying that he had treated us well and that we should be grateful...
In conclusion, it was simply shameful service, we felt used and frauded, mostly teenagers.
AVOID THIS PLACE, IT'S NOT WORTH IT.

Read moreDO NOT GO THERE Me and 2 of my friends were coming back from Germany and stopped in Innsbruck because we wanted to visit the city. It was 2pm and the only open restaurant was this one; I usually avoid Italian restaurants outside Italy but we let it slide. The guy started to befriend us because we are Italians and offered to sit us down and give us some bruschette and one plate of cooked vegetables to share (in Italy this would probably cost about 20€ total, especially in a bottega kind of restaurant. We ordered also 2 bottles of water and 1 bottled beer. The water came out to 3.5€ each (for 0.5l), the bruschette cane out to 16€ each and the plate of vegetables (with the most disgusting price) was 31€!!!!!!! Also he offered us ONE plate of vegetables and in the "receipt" (if we can call it that, paid all cash) there were signed two portions... This guy brings a bad reputation to foreign countries about Italy, it really sucks to see people being apparently friendly and then scamming people. Italy is about being honest and offering, this guy is none of the above. Very very very disappointed and also angry because we threw away 30€ each for some food that really didn't fill us up. Price is not justified when you can drive 1 hour at the border and eat the same things for less than half of the price. Also the bottega Is called "Bottega di Parma" and he Is nowhere close to Parma. Classic south Italian...
