Stay away from bacterial infection and gastroenteritis! I would give -stars to this review if I could. Himalaya Restaurant ruined our ski trip with precarious food and cooking conditions. After eating the dish 26 and 30, both me and my partner ended up at the pharmacy in less than 24h. The reason was not the spiciness (which was quite “European), but the quality of the food which tasted funny and was prepared in ambiguous conditions. I saw the kitchen (wishing I would not) whilst looking for our waiter who after an average and slow service (handed us the plates and cutlery in hand, served an 8 persons table who arrived 20 min. after us before bringing our food) forgot the naan bread. Furthermore the restaurant was not at all ventilated and it was too hot, the air was heavy and smelled like cooking in the dining space. I feel sorry for the waitering personnel who is definitely understaffed. Nonetheless this is no reason to be non-compliant with minimum health & safety conditions and bad organised at...

This rating was really difficult to decide on and if I could I would give it a 4.5. Maybe I just had too high expectations or maybe the original dishes should be ordered in the spicy variation. But to the point: The Momos in chicken soup were amazing. The tempura shrimp were huge and great. The main dish however was rather bland, except for the pickled vegetables which I really enjoyed. It just felt like something is missing and maybe the spices are just too watered down to adapt the food to European expectations? I really can't say. The spiced tea was just ok and serving the basic sweet chili sauce from the supermarket was just disappointing. I think there are some great dishes here, you just need to figure out the right ones for you. So five stars because the Momos in soup were really great and I would like to come again to try out some of the other dishes in hopes of finding...

Good food, poor service. Two stars gained for ambiance/cleanliness and the food.

They were severely understaffed which impacted the quality of service. During the meal it was difficult to make contact with the one server as they were running around so much. All the while they were continuing to fill delivery orders which left delivery people waiting in the restaurant for a while.

We waited about an hour for food, and when it came, it was not the correct item (combination app vs two separate appetizers). We obviously ate it anyway because we were starving and felt terrible telling the staff it was incorrect (as they were so busy). The item did end up on our bill (and was more money than we expected to pay), and they gave us the difference which was appreciated.

We were disappointed as we read such great reviews about the service, which we unfortunately did...

Absolutely LOVED going here for dinner during our trip to Innsbruck. Only good things to say about this restaurant - let me start with the food. We ordered veg momos for starters, veg thali and khukhura thali for main course. Everything was beyond amazing, you could say that the food is freshly prepared! We particularly found the pickle accompanied with thali to be extremely delicious - sort of a mix between cucumber kimchi and classic lemon pickle for you to get an idea. :) This was my first time having this pickle and it really elevated the taste of dal and rice. I'm usually not a fan of any kind of saag, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the saag paneer in the thali. And as most of the reviews here say, the staff is extremely gracious and welcoming. These guys know how to run a restaurant well - quality food along with hospitality! 100% recommended.

Visited this restaurant with my girlfriend on a hunch as we were heavily craving for momo (since we are two Nepalis wandering around Austria). We were actually recommended to go to the other Nepali restaurant with a similar name, but ended up here thinking they were the same. That turned out to be the best decision we've made in a while. We ordered Chicken Momos, which actually tasted as good as the Momos that would be served at an upscale restaurant in Kathmandu. The dipping sauce was pleasant to relish the Momos with. The restaurant staff were receptive, warm, welcoming, but professional. I highly recommend this place to anybody who's looking forward to getting the hospitality and taste, hailing from the Himalayas. The ambiance and the food amplified an already running nostalgia that stems from travelling across the scenic Austrian mountains. 5 STARS !!
