Disappointing Service and Overcharged at Salud
I visited Salud last night, after a colleague recommended it. As someone who tries new places weekly while traveling, I was looking forward to this one. Unfortunately, it was a letdown.
I arrived around 9 PM, and the waitress seemed unhappy to see me. She wasn’t at the entry area when I arrived, and when she finally approached, she informed me that the kitchen had limited options. When I asked what was available, her response was vague, offering "nachos" as if the kitchen was nearly closed. After some back and forth, she mentioned they also had burritos, tacos, and ribs, making it clear the kitchen was open, just with limited enthusiasm from her end.
Her attitude throughout the ordering process was frustrating. She seemed annoyed that I didn’t pick the closest table and did a poor job explaining the difference between tacos and tortillas, and what was included in one Taco order. I guess one taco was priced at €9.90.Unheard of ☺️. eventually ordered a burrito (€18-19), hoping for something substantial given the price.
The burrito itself was decent, but when I ordered a Kaiserspritzer, she brought me a Hugo instead without asking me whether I was OK with that. Hugo, wasn’t a bad drink but it wasn’t what I asked for. The final straw was when I received the bill, and I noticed I was charged €6.50 when Kaiser normally is between 4 to 5 euros.. Although I rounded the bill to €27, being overcharged for a drink I didn’t order left a sour taste. Especially when I paid a premium amount for a burrito in a small city in Austria.
While the food was passable, the service was unpleasant, and I felt overcharged. I won’t be returning, and I’ll make sure to let my colleague know about the unpleasant experience.

He was okay at first, then we waited for our food to be ready for 45 minutes, even though more than half tables in restaurant were empty. We ordered three tortillas and one portion of tacos.
After 45 minutes, waiter and waitress came out with our tortillas but not tacos. I asked waiter are we getting tacos too, and he replied “I only have two hands”. We got tacos after 5 minutes.
They told us we can sit at our table until 20:00h but 25 minutes earlier, waiter came and wanted us to pay. So we paid around 140€ for dinner for four people with drinks and left.
So overall, food was very tasty, place is uniquely decorated but staff is...

(The kiss of death opening to a review)
I'm from the Southwest US. I know Mexican food. Lately in my covid test, they told me they found traces of it in my DNA.
This is not Mexican food. It's not bad,. but it's not Mexican. Not even close. No salsa, no chips served, nothing associated with the tradition. Sure they have Corona, but it doesn't make up for the fact the corn tortillas were soggy or the cheese on the nachos was definitely not cheddar. Jalapenos were a canned, overly acidic whatever. Looking around others plates, I found no trace of actual Mexican food.
Just...no.
But the...
