the BEST authentic Austrian restaurant we ate at in Mayrhofen. A must visit and only a short stroll off the busy main drag for top notch traditional Austrian dishes, homely vibes, amazing service / banter from all the staff and we even got to meet head chef / owner Michael who had keen passion for food and just seemed like a down to earth great bloke! ps. save space for dessert which had a unexpected unique flare - its a must!

We just ate lunch here. The salmon, the cheese dumplings soup and the apple strudel were all good. The ambience was nice with a friendly staff. Was a pleasant experience.

Het eten was daarnaast ook super en meer dan voldoende. Prijs/kwaliteit is goed. Restaurant ziet er daarnaast ook Oostenrijks sfeervol en gezellig uit. We hebben de Waldcafe(cordon blue) en standaard schnitzel besteld met knapperige frietjes. Friet proefde goed alsof het in verse olie is gebakken.

Gasthof Waldcafe in Mayrhofen is an absolute gem! My family and I have stayed here multiple times, and it's always a delightful experience. Whether it's a family trip or a getaway with my partner & friends, this place never disappoints.

Michael and his team are exceptional hosts. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail make every stay special. The rooms are always clean, comfortable, and offer stunning views of the surrounding nature.

The food at Waldcafe is another highlight. Every meal is a culinary delight, made with fresh, local ingredients. The breakfast buffet is generous, and the dinners (especially the desserts) are nothing short of spectacular.

The serene location, combined with the exceptional service and delicious food, makes Gasthof Waldcafe our top choice in Mayrhofen. We will always come back, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect stay in the Austrian Alps, either...

I had a wonderful stay at Waldcafe this September! Michael and the team give such a warm welcome, making it feel like a home from home. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and it's situated in a great part of Mayrhofen making it the perfect base to explore the surrounding mountains.

The food is also delicious - great portion sizes, fresh and clearly made with a lot of care. I had my first experience of a schnitzel here and it was excellent!

Highly recommend and will definitely be my place of choice in Mayrhofen! Thanks so much to...
