If I could give less than one star I would. Both the food and the service at this place were straight up horrible. I do not recommend going here.
Long story short: expensive, poor quality food, and poor service.
It started out nice, since we had a reservation and our table was ready. After this it went downhill quite quickly.
The restaurant had oysters on the card which we wanted to order but were not available. We were, however, not informed beforehand by the server that there were dishes on the card that were not available.
We decided to order just main dishes instead. The food looked fine, but it is definitely not up to the standards that the restaurant wants to portray with their atmosphere.
The cordon bleus were dry, the pizza dough was disappointing and the salad had way too much dressing.
The waiter had earlier taken a picture of us when we got our food and asked at that moment whether everything was good. We had not had a bite yet.
When we were asked again after dinner we could only give the feedback on the salad before we got a catty response from the waiter that if we said something before he could have gotten us another salad. This is understandable, but we were not asked during dinner, staff was very busy, and the quality of all food was so poor that we already decided that we would not want anything else.
Just because of the feedback above we were shunned by the waiter and treated poorly all around. One of our party was even kicked in the foot when we were getting ready to leave.
At least they were quick with getting us the check.
Horrible experience, will never...
Read moreGusto is hard to get to. We did the reservation two days prior and with only option at 6 p.m.. Well? Worth it. The place is quite pricey, but we did not regret any euro spent. We had a lobster (son, can you believe it?), fish (wife) steak (myself) and pizza (daughter). All dish prepared with attention to details in terms of presentation, for sure. We also had starters which were excellent. Tuna tatar, beef tatar were really good. As most times we took some unnecessary deserts, but also served with style. The place is quite pricey, but still worth it. It is not a small place but I am surprised how quickly and efficiently they managed to service us. Service itself was not very warm, but professional I must say. I mean the waiting was proper, but not necessarily felt special. Technical, kind, bur not with too much engagement. Quick for sure. You can tell they want to make room for other guests. Value for money is below average as the place is not cheap, so can’t be rated positive in that regard. I would still try it for a fancy, one time during vacation dinner. The style of the place is kind of old fashioned, sometimes you think if it all clicks together… but I guess it does. Quite packed. Anyway,...
Read moreI’ve been dining at Gusto since 2013, and it’s unfortunate that I feel compelled to write this review. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced food poisoning twice within the span of three days, along with my family, at this restaurant.
The first incident occurred when we ordered a shrimp risotto for takeaway. After becoming ill, I didn’t initially suspect Gusto, as I’ve enjoyed their food and service for years without any issues. However, on Christmas Eve, despite the earlier incident, we honored our reservation (made two months in advance) and dined at the restaurant. We ordered lobster soup and pasta. Sadly, we both fell ill again and had to seek medical attention.
At this point, it became evident that there might be concerns regarding the freshness or handling of seafood at Gusto. I did contact the restaurant, and they appeared to take the matter seriously, but I feel it’s important to share my experience for anyone considering dining here.
Gusto has always been a family-friendly spot, popular with skiers and locals, and they do offer some good non-seafood options, such as pizzas and desserts. However, based on my experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding...
