Austro Galo — Restaurant in Vienna

Very impressed with this little shop. The curation of everything is excellent and Daniel the owner is very friendly and helpful. We had a plate of meat and cheese, all excellent, comes with some compote, honey, and bread. Also worth ordering the olives and the pickled beans. We asked him to recommend some wines, both were very good, then we got a glass of port each, also fantastic. Afterwards we went in and picked up some of the cheese and the fig compote he had served. Really great experience, looking forward to stopping in again soon. Oh and try the pastel de nata! He makes them himself. Delicious.

Came here driven by the "pastel de nata calling" and that is what I tried and what I can evaluate: magnificent. As soon as you step in, you just travelled over 2000 km all the way to Lisbon. The decoration, the music, the goods on display, the smell of the just baked pastels de nata,...

The espresso + pastel de nata offer is an excellent 3,90€ and can't be served better. While I am a specialty coffee freak, I still enjoyed a lot their classical espresso. The pastel de nata, what to say: it felt like the first one of my life, because it is in a whole different level to any other I had in the past.

Extremely cosy warm atmosphere; one does not want to leave and forgets the stress. Excellent coffee (cappuccino) and without exaggeration better Pastel de Nata than in Lisboa; homemade(!), delicious, juicy, filling… priceless really.
