I recently dined at this Nepalese restaurant and pleased by the quality of the service and the delicious food. The servers were attentive and knowledgeable, and they made sure that our dining experience was top-notch. The food was very good, with every dish bursting with complex flavors and spices. The dishes were expertly prepared and presented beautifully on the plate. I particularly enjoyed the tender curries and the fragrant basmati rice. One area where the restaurant could improve is by offering a greater variety of dishes on the menu. While the dishes that were available were excellent, I would have liked to see more options to choose from. Additionally, the prices at the restaurant were on the higher side, so offering better value for money would be a welcome addition. (No restaurant should charge for Popadums) The restaurant is definitely worth a visit for anyone who loves delicious and authentic Nepalese cuisine. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The restaurant also has a beautiful outdoor patio where you can enjoy your meal on a nice day. The patio is adorned with colorful lanterns and plants. In the summer it would be aperfect spot for meal with friends. Overall, I recommend this Colombo Hoppers for its great service and delicious food. With a few improvements in terms of variety and value for money, it could become one of the better restaurants in the area.

Be aware that they have a price for the buffet, but while you're already eating they will tell you that you have to pay a drink EVEN IF YOU DON'T ORDER IT. They had absolutely no problem when i said they're losing a client and the ridiculously rude owner told me angrily and gesticulated to leave the restaurant if I'm not fine with it. I entered because of the poster outside where's clearly written that the menu costs 8,90€. So i entered with the 10€ note i had in my pocket and thought it will even be enough to leave a tip to the waiter. But because they have this rule of the drink you're forced to pay whatsoever (which you can't know until they tell you about when you're already eating), i had to pay 10,80€. I said i have no more money and they told me to go to the ATM. It was clearly not my mistake, but they didn't let me go without finding another 0,80€. Humiliating. PS: the quality of the food is average.

We tried the Colombo hoppers platte. As a starter we got hopper and roll. Hopper was great but roll didn't feel very authentic. As curries we got chicken which tasted more like Indian curry than srilankan (strong cardamom taste), beef curry that was very good, beans curry also good, another beans curry (why would you give two beans curries?) with some kind of cream sauce (never had that in Sri Lanka), radish curry (tasted good but undercooked) and some other kind of curry which waiter didn't know it's name (but tasted good). There was also deviled chicken but wasn't really spicy at all. As a desert we got watalappan which was very good. Overall place was nice and waiters were friendly but food didn't do the justice for it's price.

My family wanted to spend New Years Eve in Vienna this year. We were recommended this restaurant by some patrons who visited the place previously. When we called earlier in the day, we were told that we would have to be there from 7:45-8:00p and get out of there by 9pm as they had that table booked for people at 9p-- understandable for New Years Eve.

We arrived at 8:10 as we got stuck in some holiday traffic on the way over and when we arrived we were willing for us to sit and eat until 9:15p, but insisted that we had to leave at that time for their other, and what they said "more important" reservations. In the buffet style of food that prepared for the evening, which they charged us €30 per person plus drinks, they did not continue to refill the food, missing a few important pieces of a Sri Lankan dinner including Naan. We asked for naan 4-6 times over the course of 30 minutes which continually they failed to provide, constantly pushing us to finish our food and leave so they could have the table for their "more important" reservation.

If you are a business in the service industry and you agree to let your customers sit and eat food, it's their responsibility to provide all the food in the time they have allotted to you, especially given our significant time constraint.

Telling the manager this, he got in our our faces and threatened us and called us obscene names and told us to just eat what they provided and leave. What kind of service is that?!

They would not acknowledge any of our concerns, no matter how calmly we tried to present then and told us some bs and threatened to call the cops to settle the bill dispute with them. then he started waving in hands in our faces demeaning and insulting us and even threatened to take it "outside" as if he wanted to deal with it violently. They forced us to sign the bill and leave.

We did not have a good time here at all, and as a traveler who has visited many many countries, this is THE WORST EXPERIENCE I have even faced. Never go here. All they care about is profit, not service. They shouldn't be in...

Hi, we went to this restaurant on our first night in Vienna, compared to Prague and Salzburg, this was our worst experience. If there were negative ratings, I would give them to prevent people from making the mistake we made. Food: food was mediocre and nowhere near Sri Lankan food. Cost: super expensive for literally no food. I mean “no food at all” on the plate. Service/ waiter: I’ve come across bad experiences, but I would rank this as the first when it come to worst waiter service. There were only 2 people to serve. The waiter would just walk by you and pretending not to hear or see you, if we order, no proper response and they would redirect to another waiter. The owner is Sri Lankan and wouldn’t take our order. He asked us where we were from, when we said Tamil Nadu, he pretended to not know where it was and asked us if it was in the North of India.

We had ordered: Hopper with onion sambar Rice with chicken curry, came with 2 side dishes Mango peach chutney (highly recommend not to get it) All were 25€ which was expensive compared to Salzburg even. We asked them to pack the chutney, they charged us 1€ for it. We asked them to keep the chutney for themselves, it was really not worth it!

Overall, bad experience and would highly recommend not to go there. Right after we walked out after paying the bill, we went to Dancing Noodles restaurant. I would highly recommend Dancing Noodles any day, the food was so great and was a mood lifter after this incident.

We went to this restaurant after seeing that it had 4,5 stars with 940 reviews. But that was not the case.

If you don’t want your night I be spoilt. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT TK GO HERE. I repeat NOT TO GO HERE.

P.S. Christoff (the other waiter at Colombo Hoppers) was the only nice person who...

Food was not bad for limited spices available in Austria,or so I believe. You will like it if you AREN'T Sri Lankan/any south Asian.

I was super tired and jet lagged, craved for South Asian food.

About service, I believe it can get better. One staff just sitting across my table across, with phone.. it is very awkward to call out with hands or get up from table to come to you..when i did wave at the staff who makes drinks,he turned blind eye, despite looking at me...finally I could get the attention of him when he was serving dish somewhere else and happened to pass by. The only time the other staff paid attention was when my knife fell down when it made noise.

Also when I did ask for another rum and coke, you went away and made me wait for a good 5 minutes doing nothing.you stood there, then you prioritized others waiting for 3 different meals and taking them one by one to the other table, when the other staff guy was still sat and using phone right across my table. You need to understand the prioritizing here. My meal was served 25 minutes after ordering and when i asked another drink, its usually to have along with dinner!!!!! You even went short on my rum, both the times. I was too tired to even raise concerns when the server /bartender was acting DUMB on purpose. At the time of billing,I always tip 10percent if I was not happy with service(ya I still keep respect). My bill was 34.60 and you said "so now its 36.60"...when I asked, you said its your tips. You do realise I was to put 3.5 not 2(which u shamelessly just added)...but I didnt give more as thought of,because you were greedy.. When I asked for bill, the guy using phone asked if everything was okay... I wanted to say how horrible the service was,but I knew it wouldn't have made...
