Those who enjoy genuine Viennese coffeehouse culture will delight in this place: the quiet murmur of the voices, no music (!), high ceilings and comfy booths - it provides the soothing soundscape of a friendly library. If you catch one of the (many) spots at the window, you will be able to watch Viennese life going its course. The whole setting is highly relaxing. We came for breakfast. The selection is not groundbreaking, but rather traditional and solid: don't expect smoothies or porridge; do dare to try the Fiaker Frühstück made of a Gulasch (beef stew) and a beer. Our bread rolls ("Semmeln"; don't offend the locals by using the Germans' term "Brötchen"!) were deliciously fresh, the egg properly soft boiled, my Cafe Latte spoiled me with its fine, long-lasting milk froth. Only the orange juice was no revelation - tasted thin ad watered-down. Free Wi-Fi, too. I would happily spend an afternoon here, working on the laptop. And the waiter - grumpy-looking as they come, but then giving you a subtle smile that suddenly makes your day.

We came here as we were in Maria-Theresien Plaza and looking for an Austrian restaurant nearby. After entering we waited to get seated and it didn't take too long. The interior was nicely decorated with chandeliers and dark red ceilings. There were desserts sitting in the glass counter so you could watch it as you pass. They also had free WiFi which is always a bonus, just keep an eye out for the frames with the WiFi code. The menu had lots of options and we received an English one. They had a special set which included a soup, a schnitzel and a dessert. I tried their dumplings with egg, which turned out to be spaetzle with egg. I personally found the food on the salty side. The set meal was quite nice and did have choices. We had the sacher torte for dessert and found it a bit dry (as it's supposed to be). It is a really nice looking place. Food was ok but too salty.

The atmosphere was okay, felt a little out of place… service was not great, okay at best, the woman was much nicer than the man, though we didn’t interact with her much. The man seemed to be having a bad day, slamming the phone when he was hanging up a call… didn’t seemed pleased that we were foreigners… we ordered the Kaiserschmarrn and it felt dry, not fresh and the proportions cake to apple sauce weren’t great for 10€. I then found a piece of plastic (looked like a bristle from a cleaning brush) in my apple sauce, and proceeded to let them know kindly (with the translation app) and all i got was a grunt… i hope the message made it back to the kitchen. Maybe we had an unlucky experience, and caught them all on a bad day, but i definitely wouldn’t come back.

It's a very unpleasant place. First of all, one of the employees is very unfriendly. I don't know if you're purposely racist of me or if you're ignoring me when I've asked you twice, you just say yes and don't listen. Even if we made eye contact, we pretended not to know and eventually didn't bring the food we ordered separately until the meal was over. She's a very unpleasant, rude employee, and she's the worst restaurant I've ever been to I'm a bearded employee. Be careful. Travel day becomes the worst because of these people. It's been the worst day in kind Austria because of this kind of staff. It's terrible. Of course I understand if he's busy and forgets. But he's very free and there aren't many people, and I can't forget because I was the only Asian guest. It's the worst employee, and it's a restaurant. It was disgusting If you look at the reviews here, it says that the service is the worst...
