We had originally booked to stay for a few days over the New Year but due to Covid were unable to travel. The hotel kindly allowed us to rearrange so we decided to come for the Christmas markets.||The hotel is in a great location, just a couple of minutes from the Volkstheatre Metro station, the Museum Quarter and the Spittelberg Christmas market. Still within a 20 minute radius is the city centre and the beautiful Rathaus Christmas Market.||We chose a Cosy Urban room as we weren't intending to do anything other than sleep in it. The bed was queen sized and very comfortable, there was a desk, a couple of chairs and a variety of lamps - everything we needed. The bathroom was fairly spacious with underfloor heating, good lighting, decent mirrors and an over-bath shower. The water pressure and temperature were both excellent.||The breakfast was also excellent with both full English and continental offerings. In fact the only thing that caused a minor issue was that you could forgo housekeeping every day and have a free drink in return. Unfortunately nobody explained that you had to be given a voucher for this. However, when we turned up at the bar on our last night asking for the drink, the lovely barman sorted it...
Read moreWe stayed here for 4 nights on a sightseeing trip to Vienna - the reception staff were friendly, but it was the restaurant staff at breakfast who were particularly pleasant, very efficient and polite. Breakfast was of a great quality and presented very well (we had breakfast 2mornings) it kept us going all day !! The room was huge - not sure we had been upgraded? It was in the attic, a long room with the bathroom at the end. The whole area was wonderfully clean, with a fridge, safe, tea and coffee facilities as well as bottled water. The room was very quiet, with comfortable beds - I often struggle with hard hotel beds as I have arthritis in my hip, but not this trip! The chairs in the room where very comfortable for sitting after a tiring day sightseeing (unlike the chairs in our last destination hotel in Salzburg) I like the fact that there are no cushions on the bed (hygienic reasons) which the room didn’t have. Overall, a fabulous stay -...
Read moreThe hotel location is perfect… 15 minutes walk to the centre and has a few superb restaurants close by.||Unfortunately this is the only positive thing I can say, we stayed mid November and the rooms were uncomfortably hot… we had to have the window open the first night and didn’t sleep a wink due to the constant traffic and the pubs closing. |Complained to reception and were given a fan for the room… they turn the air conditioning off in the winter months… they don’t mention that on the website! |I asked to switch rooms and was told to see them the next day, which I did only to be told by the rudest receptionist they are fully booked and couldn’t help! ||I never wrote reviews like this but 4 nights in a boiling hot room with no sleep will do that to a person!||The bathroom was below average and there was a trickle of water from the shower.||If you do stay at this hotel for location, pay extra for a high...
