Let's start with our entrance to the restaurant
Unfortunately we couldn't sit down immediately as the venue is tiny and the tables were all occupied, but we trusted one of the waiters who put us at a table for 2 while waiting for a bigger table to become available. Spoiler: we remained for 45 minutes STANDING at that table for 2 (we were 7), even though some tables had opened up meanwhile. Only in the last half hour of the aperitif they did find us a bigger table but just because they needed the first one.
Let's move on to the gastronomic side
We all ordered drinks and after a few minutes a waiter asked us if we would like to eat, at that point we asked him for something to "nibble" on to accompany our drinks; he proposed a "tagliere" and we agreed. The tagliere arrives and I premise that the food was of good quality (so no argument there), but it was when we went to pay that the best part comes: we immediately realised something strange, in fact, doing the maths, the tagliere was more than 95 euros! The unpleasant thing was that not only we paid almost 100 euros for a tagliere (that in an expensive restaurant in a central area we would not have paid more than 45/50 euros), but that in practice to arrive at that price we had to add 13.50 euros per person, which was rather ironic, given that probably none of the ingredients on the tagliere came to 7 units, indeed there was even just 1 burrata to be shared between everyone! Alas, a restaurant may have good quality food, but without proper service and with the addition of these "unpleasant surprises" it can only offer...
Read moreThis place I call my second comfort zone. Starting with staff who are extremely friendly, who greet you in an exceptional way, as if you know them since ages. They let you feel you belong there. Don’t let me get started with the wine and food. Everything there is extremely authentic and purely made in Italy. Francesco one of the brothers always recommends the best wine, so ask for him and trust him with your wine.
I tried almost everything. What I like most is the Antipasti plate and especially when It comes to the table they would explain to you from where each ingredient is coming!
But what you can never go wrong with is the Pistachio cream. It is like Nutella and even better. You will regret not trying it.
Visit them and have the ultimate Italian experience in the middle of Vienna. There is still much more to talk about but I will let you experience it...
Read moreThe dining experience was exceptional. As a fan of pistachio, I enjoyed my pistachio cannolo and my pistachio espresso. I don't know their Italian names, sorry :/ The espresso was so unique. I have had other types of coffee in which a condensed paste or cream, typically sweet, is used to counter the bitterness of the coffee itself. I didn't expect one could do that with pistachio. At the end, the coffee is mixed with the pistachio cream and becomes this velvety chocolate-like treat. I really recommend it. I tried their two sandwiches, one is the house's special. Unfortunately I can't rave much about the sandwiches, even though I do like one of them. I guess their antipasta dishes might be more appealing. I don't like the atmosphere, however. It was so closed off inside that eventually your clothes smell like your food, and the restrooms are just so...
