Disappointed with the service here unfortunately. When me and my partner arrived the outside seating area was full(approx 12 tables). A waiter greeted us and we told him we would love to sit outside and asked if we might wait and if he could estimate what the wait time would be. He seemed very annoyed and bothered and told us there was no way for him to know. We asked if we could have a seat inside and move outside once a table opened up. He told us this was not possible. We accepted that and went inside to have a seat, he then told us if we sat in the corner we could later move outside. We ordered drinks and appetizers and told our waiter we would order main course later. Before appetizer arrived we received a table outside and properly thanked the waiter. We then ordered main courses. After waiting an hour for the main course i politely asked if it would arrive soon. He went into the kitchen, came back and asked what our order was and then left. Then we received our food 30min later. Obviously our order had been lost. Once we'd finished our meal we'd spent 2h in this restaurant. When the waiter took our plates I told him the food was delicious but I'm disappointed about how long we had to wait for it. He became very defensive and dismissive talking about how busy they were and then asked me "what do you want me to do about it?" I told him I thought it would be fair to remove one drink each for me and my partner from the tab, since we wouldn't have ordered as much without the long wait. He told me that was impossible because "he was just a waiter and they are very busy".
I can understand being busy leading to long wait times and i can understand an order going missing sometimes, we all make mistakes. But when this happens you have to be able to admit it, apologize and offer some small compensation for the trouble. Our waiter never even acknowledged our wait.
I also had to ask three times before getting to...
Read moreI used this restaurant for dinner when I visited Vienna as a tourist and regret my choice. First, although it was not very busy (it was a weekday after 9.30 pm, and almost all seats were empty except for the terrace), the food I ordered was not served after more than 40 minutes. I thought it was strange and asked the waiter to check, and about 10 minutes later, another waiter came and explained that the staff member who took my order was new and could not register my order. At that time, he only made excuses and did not say a single word of apology. However, if that were all, I would not have written this review, as it is a common mistake. But the service since the food finally was served also has been terrible. The waiters did not pay attention well to the customers, cutlery was not provided till I asked, and the explanation about the stock availability was different depending on the staff when I ordered additional drink (and the serving took too long time). Worse still, when I checked my statement because I felt the price was too high when I paid the bill, I found that a potato salad I had not ordered had been added by mistake. The dish was indeed on the table, but I assumed it was served as an accompaniment to the main course (when the waiter brought the food, I confirmed this but only received a vague response like 'no problem'). Of course, I demanded a refund, but the staff insisted they could not refund me as they had provided it. After I finally got angry and complained in a slightly stronger tone, they agreed to a refund. The customer service was too messy and rude. I can only assume I was slighted by them. They only made excuses for their own mistakes without a single apology. The food tasted quite ordinary and not particularly tasty. The lager beer was very lukewarm. I did not trust the words or actions of the staff. I do not want to give them even one star. Would definitely not recommend...
Read moreMy recent visit to Centimeter, the premier destination for authentic Austrian cuisine, was nothing short of spectacular. The culinary journey began with their unparalleled soup served in a freshly baked bread bowl. The rich, flavorful broth complemented the crusty, warm bread perfectly, creating a comforting and indulgent start to the meal. The excellence continued with their schnitzels, both pork and chicken are excellent. Each cutlet was expertly breaded and fried to a golden perfection, maintaining a tender and juicy interior. The flavors were robust and satisfying, making it difficult to choose a favorite between the two. Centimeter's beer selection is another highlight. Each brew was crisp, refreshing, and perfectly paired with the rich dishes. It was evident that the selection was curated with great care, adding another layer of authenticity to the dining experience. Dessert was an absolute delight, with the strudel standing out as a must-try. The pastry was flaky and light, with a sweet, spiced filling that was utterly irresistible. It was the perfect conclusion to the meal, leaving us licking our fingers and craving more. To round off this exceptional experience, the coffee at Centimeter was superb. Rich, aromatic, and expertly brewed, it was the perfect accompaniment to our dessert. What truly elevated our visit was the impeccable service. The staff were incredibly polite, welcoming, and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of our meal was perfect. Their warmth and professionalism added to the overall enjoyable atmosphere. I wholeheartedly recommend Centimeter to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience.
