We first went for a lunch, since they offer both gluten free and normal food it was a great option to visit. First we ordered pizzas and it was absolutely amazing. Dough was perfect, toppings were working together very well and the more we ate, the better it was. Then we ordered desserts. I was a bit skeptical about gluten free Tiramisu and Torta (can't remember the name) but again, just perfection. We decided it was so good, we had to come for dinner as well to try out pasta. So we spoke with Remi, one of the staff members and he was an absolute legend. Very friendly, smiling all the time and service was on point! So, we're coming back for dinner. As I said, we're going for pasta. I ordered Carbonara, my girlfriend gluten free Penne with pesto and chicken. There again we were left speechless. The best pasta we've had - both! Gluten free pasta was absolutely amazing, I couldn't tell the difference and Carbonara? Oh man. Just perfection. We again ordered Tiramisu and it was even better than one we got for lunch! We're so glad we've visited and we're definitely coming again. Not just for food, which was an absolute blast but staff and general atmosphere as well. On our way out we spoke with Remi again and you could tell he loves his job. Even after a long day of absolutely packed restaurant he's still smiling, greeting customers and providing the best service. If you're planning to visit, make sure to make a reservation otherwise you might be out of luck. We hope that restaurant stays open forever and people and quality remains the same. We wish you the best, and see you again :-)

The food was excellent. One of the best Italian food I've ever eaten. But the service was really bad. They pressed us to order (they came 3 times in like 5min to ask if we were ready to order). We didn't have to wait long for the food which was really great. At the end of the meal during the dessert. Two of us had finished and the last two were finishing their plates (a few spoons left); the server came to take our plates and just waited for a solid minute next to our friends that were finishing their plates because he apparently wanted to do a single trip. When it was time to pay, the waiter told us that the card payment terminal wasn't working, but we saw the table next to us pay with it just before us. Also it was clearly on and working right in front of us. "Fortunately" an ATM was just in front of the restaurant, with a 4€ fee for each transaction. For those who want to eat there, go for it! It's really good, just a bit sad that the staff isn't that great with clients. And take cash in case the terminal "doesn't work". And take a reservation too, it's really crowded.

We are visiting Vienna with friends. One of our group has Celiac disease so we are mindful of menus and choose places where there are gluten free options. She found Scaraboccio through a Celiac site as their pizzas are all gluten-free. Usually, sadly, gluten free is synonymous with dry, tasteless, pizza etc, but the food at Scaraboccio was incredible! Everything from the appetisers ( we had a cheese plate and an antipasti), the meals ( pizza for some, calzones, and veal Marsala) , the bread accompanying the meal ( a huge basket of piping hot gluten free "garlic bread" and fresh hot rolls for the rest of us), our drinks, right down to the desserts ( even a gluten free tiramisu that surpassed any tiramisu I've ever had, gluten or not). The staff is attentive but does not hover, and the ambiance is incredible. I must try when in Vienna, gluten free diet or not! You know it's a great place when your tables candle gets this low!

When we arrived, our first impression of the restaurant was the one of a worm and cozy local, waiters welcomed us quite friendly and took us to the table. Everything seemed fine at first sight, we were handed the menus and the waiter ensured us there were some gluten free items available, including pizzas, as we saw advertised on the their website. My wife is celiac, then particular attention needs to be drawn to the preparation of food served her, including potential contamination of dishes in the kitchen. We had a direct view of the kitchen counter from our table and we assisted to the whole making of our pizzas form our seats. Although the pizza’s dough seemed to be gluten-free, it was prepared on the counter with several other orders, it was put in the oven with the same shovel they used to move other non gluten free pizzas and eventually cooked in the same oven with the other pizzas. Contamination is ensured! Do NOT come here if you have gluten issues.

Another aside detail: It was our first time in Vienna and we didn’t know that it’s considered good practice to leave a tip at the end of the dinner (even if we had known it’s an habit to do so in Vienna, we wouldn’t have left anything due to the previous facts). The waiter presented us the the bill, I paid in cash almost the exact amount, I expected a change of 80cents. He showed me again the bill quite rudely as he intended to say: “where is my tip?”. He went away with the money I gave him and never came back with the change and never hailed...

I have such a bad experience there. It was the birthday of my girlfriend, so we wanted to eat dinner on a good restaurant, that look romantic, and with a good service and food, but just a little bit the food and the place deserve a “bravo” the service and the management need to be changed. We arrive to the place and we wanted to started with a drink, and the waiter cant wait anything so you cab choose somethings , he just stress you, the same happened when he wanted that we order fast, immediately you order the drink the waiter want that you order the food, you don’t have even time to enjoy the moment and talk. We wanted to order something vegan because before we read that almost everything they can make it vegan, and that is completely not real, they cant cook for you something special vegan even if they have the ingredients, and of course you cant say anything because the waiter starts to be very angry if you make him loos he’s time.

WHY NO ONE TOLDS US AT THE BEGINNING THAT YOU CAN ONLY PAY WITH CASH!!! That is not possible really, and after they tell you thar there is a cash machine outside (that doesn’t work), and actually reading the other comment the machine never works, and even that they tell you that there is a cash machine.

Definitely you can go there an eat something delicious (vegan pizza is very good) but go with cash, go if you are not interested in enjoy and wait, and go if you like a copy of a good restaurant with a fast food...
