Improvised a late Sunday brunch here. The place is spacious and wide, but it was obviously crowded and the empty tables were actually booked, but the staff took a couple of minutes of investigation to find a spot for me, for a generous 90 minutes before the reservation came in.
I was wisely suggested to wait around 15 minutes to order, so I could choose from the main menu and not only from the brunch menu. During the weekends, they are serving brunch until 15:00, when they switch to the standard one.
I can't help my fried chicken addiction and went with the crispy chicken. Otherwise, there are plenty of tempting alternatives.
Crispy chicken is a different animal which most of the times disappoints. However, Das Eduard is here to show how good can it be: their towering crispy chicken burger is visually attractive, and it's chicken has the perfect crispy texture. And they got their crispiness without abusing of the coating, which means it is thin and crispy. The only point that keeps it away from perfection is that is lacking flavour intensity: some spiciness which adds flavour depth. Being that said, it is a very enjoyable crispy chicken, well above average.
The service was always kind and quick, and I liked the good vibes in the local in general. Price wise, it could be slightly above the average, but I would say that portion's...
Read moreTo be honest im sick of the bad quality of service. I came there at 10.30 i had 2 coffees and i was waiting for my friends. They arrived at 11.20. We were super excited because it was their first time and we were really wanting to have a nice breakfast. At 11.25 we ordered our coffees and we were looking for what should we get. At 11.34 the waiter came and he said there is no breakfast after 11.30. He literally knew when we ordered coffee that we will order a breakfast afterwards. He didnt take our menus when we ordered coffees. He didnt say anything when we were orderimg our coffees. İn the end i was super kindly asked him that its my friends first time in Eduard and it has ONLY been 5 minutes. I asked from, him as a customer that visits this place all the time , to not to break my heart for 4 minutes and he said no sorry.IMPOSSİBLE! It wasnt our fault that he didnt tell us while we were ordering our coffees. And in the end i felt like he didnt even care a bit of my unpleasent feelings. I have really enough with this mentality and attitude. This is gastronomy and service sector. İt suppose to be friendly. Why should i feel embarresed next to my friends ? Because of 4 minutes!! Thank you Eduard! ( The reason i wrote this even a really nice place with its mood and food , a modern place can be very bad in the service, thats very...
Read moreGenerally my friends and I liked the place a lot. Most of the waiters were friendl and nice. However, one of the waiters(male - tall short hair - i believe tatooed arms but not sure), ignored my friend when he wanted to order another round of drinks. I thought it was not on purpose, so next time he came around and was serving a lady next to our table. When he turned his back again, I literally said "hey, sorry" and then he turned around and said in german "hä, i dont know what hey sorry means" made a face and turned away. Luckily, the next waiter came unknowingly of what happened and was very nice. This bad review is not reflecting on the general atmosphere in the place, but just a hope that somebody in the restaurant will read this and talk to their colleague/employee. And please don't even try to explain it with "vienna charme", i live in this city since 15 years and speak fluent german. I guess it was not xenophobia, but it sure as hell felt as if it was an issue that i used english language, since there is no other explanation. Food, drinks and everyone else were...
