DAS1090 — Restaurant in Vienna

we really tried. since we are living close by we also visited quite often. each time we hoped: THE SERVICE (too slow & legere..often chatting at the bar, ignoring customers, though you might meet a waiter who is nice - but that seems an exception really) & QUALITY OF FOOD ( either portions too small or mediocre taste (the shrimp soup is a piss take btw) or just too expensive (you ever wonder why no prices are listed online? ;) - the burger seems to be the only 'okay'-meal in my opinion) improved. but no. so we resorted to only having coffee there. until sunday. we arrived at quarter to 5 - (16:45!!) sat down, the waitress taking our order ( - official closing time & written on the door- is 6pm, to make sure i stated: we have a little over an hour till you close? - she said: "no 15min. or 30 min." me investigating what that means since 6pm is closing time...was responded with shoulder shrugging - and: a no. me asking politely again wasn't met with any more information or anything else but shoulder shrugging again...but one last time repeating our order. i couldn't help myself but laugh. no thank you... (also, the summer terrace upstairs...god knows why its there? its closed half the time? again waiters too lazy?)

its funny but a few people in the neighbourhood already wish it would get taken over by another management. it's such a good spot and they really don't know...

New review - 4 stars We are living only 1 min away from the new 1090 and we have visited for brunch as well as for dinner. With the new owner food quality and service have increased tremendously and now it is a really nice place to have a burger or go and visit for brunch, where you have a huge variety of different food. Thank you that it finally works and we are now able to go there!

Old review - 1 star (previous owner) We were today there for breakfast. Ordered our food at about 9:05 am. Then at 9:20 am another waiter came and took the order again... 20 min later we received the food. Taste and amount of the food were ok, although overpriced. The display of the food was boring and nothing special. Waiter spilled the orange juice over the bread but didn't offer to exchange it. After another 15 min we received the waffles with ice cream, but as the waiter was obviously too late in the kitchen the ice was already liquid. Waffles were standard bought waffles, with not enough maple sirup on it.

When we wanted to pay the waiter miscalculated the invoice twice and after telling him that, he told me "what do I want, everything is correct".

So I wouldn't recommend this place, slow unfriendly service with low to mid range food but with a high price tag. There are plenty other better...

I have booked a table online for a Friday night, for a work event and I immediately received a confirmation of the booking via email. When we arrived at Das1090, we were informed they knew nothing of our reservation and that I must have done a mistake because all the tables were taken. When I insisted and showed them the reservation, they only said it was not their fault, because the system (quandoo) accepts by default reservations. Which is really ridicolous, just admit you made a mistake. Also, do not use quandoo if you cannot handle it or at least put the option of the restaurant having to confirm the quandoo reservation ( which is left pending until they do). Very unpleasant experience, cause we were left without a table on a rainy Friday night, having to look for another and the staff attitude towards this was really not helpful or apologetic To make things worse, 40 minutes after we left DAS 1090, to look for another place, I received a notification from Quandoo that my reservation had just been cancelled by Das 1090, so they actually did receive it, contrarily to what they told us.
