We got traditional Viennese goulash and schnitzel with potato salad. Both were super delicious, although goulash had a very strong wine taste so it might not be to everyone's liking (wasn't to mine), but it's a really tasty dish overall! The schnitzel was prepared to perfection and was one of the best we tried during our stay. The potato salad was magnificent - well-seasoned with vinegar and salt. We also got coffee and Sachertorte which were amazing, especially the cake! The restaurant was clean and there was seating outdoors and indoors. The waitress that served us was pleasant. Während unseres einwöchigen Urlaubs in Wien, der uns durch zahlreiche Restaurants führte – von traditionell bis nobel –, hat uns das Donau Beisl in jeglicher Hinsicht überrascht und begeistert.

Schon beim Betreten wird klar: Hier zählt nicht der erste Eindruck, sondern das, was dahinter steckt. Das Ambiente mag etwas in die Jahre gekommen sein, doch genau das trägt zu seinem rustikalen Wiener Charme bei. Und sobald der Service auftritt, beginnt das wahre Erlebnis: Freundlich, aufmerksam und mit einer Herzlichkeit, die wir in anderen Lokalen oft vermisst haben.

Das Highlight? Ohne Frage das Schnitzel! Absolut perfekt zubereitet, zart und knusprig, schlichtweg das beste Wiener Schnitzel, das wir in der Stadt gegessen haben. Die akribische Dekoration der Speisen und die Liebe zum Detail lassen die Küche auf ein Niveau steigen, das selbst hochpreisige Restaurants in den Schatten stellt. Ein wahres Erlebnis für die Sinne!

Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis? Unschlagbar. Selten findet man in einer Hauptstadt ein Lokal, das sowohl kulinarisch als auch finanziell so überzeugt. „Klein, aber fein“ trifft es hier perfekt – eine authentische Wiener Dorfkneipe mit großartiger Küche.

Unser Fazit: Das Donau Beisl mag von außen unscheinbar wirken, doch im Inneren entfaltet sich ein wahres kulinarisches Juwel, das mit Qualität und Herzlichkeit glänzt.

Eine kleine Renovierung würde sicherlich den letzten Schliff geben und die Fassade dem erstklassigen Niveau der Küche anpassen. Doch selbst ohne diese Modernisierung bleibt das Donau Beisl ein Muss für jeden Wien-Besucher, der die echte Wiener Küche auf höchstem Niveau erleben möchte. Wir kommen...

My family and I were visiting Vienna and staying close to this restaurant and wanted a place that was local and authentic for dinner. Donau Beisl is a lovely place to soak up the local vibe off the tourist strip. Prices, portions and quality could not be faulted.
