Discovered this new place, offers great empanadas! We tasted our way through basically all of them, the highlights are definitely cochinita pibil and for me, because I like cheese, the provola. They are all great, deep flavors and generously stuffed. Goes well with the beer on tap. They also have other argentine street food favorites, like choripan and milanesa sandwich. Food wise, fantastic if youre looking for authentic argentine food. The vibe is cool and friendly, probably because they arent locals..!
HOWEVER: the owner was a bit on edge.. not sure if it's always like this, but first we got reprimanded that we reserved "wrong" in the app and that they charge a fee per person reservation.. what?! How is that the customers fault? Children don't count as people?! We were also quite sarcastically told that "we were breaking his shop" and "that he will have problems with the insurance" because our kid was touching and checking out the lamp on the table. I get it, it's the argentine openness and you have to know how they are/their mentality, and it's normal that they are direct with you, but this was just a tick too far, tick too malicious. It came across as rude and unwelcoming; shame really, because the food is really great and the service staff...
Read moreI ordered for delivery through Lieferando. I ordered 4 empanadas and an extra dip. When the order arrived, there was one empanada missing. My partner rang the restaurant and spoke to Martin who repeatedly asked what was missing and then said that he had accidentally sent our order to another customer. He was irritated on the phone and his suggestion was that we come by the restaurant to get the missing empanada. There was no apology or offer of a refund. What’s interesting is that apart from one missing empanada the order was correct. I don’t believe that we were sent the wrong order but that they left us short of everything we ordered. Luckily lieferando were helpful and refunded the amount for the missing food.
Will never order from here again. I do not support businesses that...
Read moreProvolo was good, spinach taste like it was frozen food and flavorless. Server dude didn’t know I understood Spanish and he was rude with a lot of side comments. First thing he did when I walked in was look at his watch, it was 9:30 and place closes at 10 I was so hungry and wanted something quick to go. He told me he was in a bad mood because people were annoying him all day… didn’t really give me options, I just picked whatever they had left in the display, then I overheard him say he has more in back for the people that came in after me. 4.90Euro per empanada… didn’t feel like it was worth that much.. Read other reviews about this negative server/owner… I agree 100%, not worth it to be around a...
