What a difference a day makes. We dined at Fine Fine last night and had a great dinner. The food was excellent; the service was warm and personable; the ambience of the place really shined and made us want to return-- and so we did, tonight. What we found today surprised us because it was almost like a different restaurant. Unlike the very pleasant waitress who served us the yesterday with smiles and enthusiasm, our waiter today was gruff and seemed annoyed as he took our orders. He continued with this unpleasant attitude more or less for the entire meal (no smiles, no thank you's like the previous evening). When we asked for the check, I noticed a service charge for €15 and asked what that was for. He said it was for a tip. I then mentioned that last night there had been no "service charge" included on the bill (even though I did leave a tip). He quickly said he could cancel the service charge. I'm not sure who is in charge of the restaurant, but it's a shame that this kind of behavior can spoil an otherwise excellent restaurant experience. Our meal on Sunday night was one of the best we've had in Vienna. But, I learned a valuable lesson-- good food will only take you so far... good service is just...
Read moreWe LOVED the fish carpaccio, it was one of their antipasto specials for the night and we saw the family next to us trying it so we asked for the same. I had the tagliatelle dello chef, which was a little creamy and sweet for my taste but nonetheless hearty and flavorful. The frutti di mare is also to die for, and we shared a tiramisu that was so soft and delectable. It was a petty busy night during the holiday season so our waiter was running around a lot, but he still managed to be quite attentive and friendly, and never rushed us. We also enjoyed the homemade limoncello at the end of dessert, it was very refreshing.
We were fortunate to be able to walk in as a party of 2 without much of a wait at all, but would probably recommend making a reservation as it seemed that a family of 4 that came in after us had to wait a while...
Read moreScandalous The setting and atmosphere are pleasant, and the service is friendly. Unfortunately, the dishes are very disappointing. The expected quality is absolutely not there: the salad was not fresh, the tuna was poorly cooked and not fresh either, and the pizza was very mediocre — not at all up to the standards one would expect from a proper restaurant. The glass of wine was underfilled and portions were quite small. The food did not match the price we paid at all (€63 for two). It’s worth noting that the food arrived in less than ten minutes, likely a sign that most of the ingredients were not fresh. I am very surprised by the 4.6 rating of this rather mediocre restaurant, which I wouldn’t recommend....
