Having tried another vietnamese restaurant nearby last year I was very keen to try this one as well. Naturally I had to test out the pho to properly benchmark it. Whether it is due to produce availability or the fact that restaurants in Vienna had to adapt to the local palate, the compositon of a bowl of pho is different when compared to Vietnam or countries with more established Vietnamese immigrant communities For example, the Asian basil replaced by coriander or that the beef was not provided raw. That's not to say it couldn't work though and indeed, the overal essence of the pho was retained. The clear soup broth was flavoursome. The noodles were cooked perfectly maintaining that silky texture. The service was was prompt and friendly even through the language barrier. Be aware that this is a cash only establishment so you don't get caught out. In summary if you are on Vienna and fancy something different than I urge you to...

Pho84 has undergone a bit of a rebrand and is now Pho84 Snack. Their new menu sets them apart from most of the other Vietnamese restaurants in Vienna; in addition to staples like pho, they now offer banh mi, steamed buns, chay, a fairly extensive vegan menu, and a host of other menu items which are a tad harder to find in European Vietnamese restaurants. They've also started making their own hot sauce, which I appreciate. As far as the pho bo goes, the meat was browned in a pan, rather than served rare and finished with the broth, which I prefer. I'm not sure, but I had the impression that they might use a generic broth for a few varieties of pho, as this didn't seem like the typical beef pho broth/stock. We ordered a pork banh mi but received beef, but nonetheless, it was very good. The vegan summer rolls were pretty bland. All in all, a good experience. Looking forward to trying more of their...

Food came out quickly enough and given the price - it was solid. The ingredients seemed fresh, taste was good, but lacked a bit of flavor. Costumer service could use a push in a right direction. The waiter doesn't speak English (basics). He forgot one of our order, and even upon reminding them, we still didn't receive it. The last order was served right when we were already asking for the bill and were packing to leave. I would have rated higher had the staff showed more effort and professional behavior. Attending to the needs of your guests is always appreciated, and lack of attention to detail is unfortunately not doing them a service. In conclusion, if you are only interested in food you will be semi to fully satisfied; but if you are looking for a whole experience, you might leave...
