Ströck - Feierabend Burggasse — Restaurant in Vienna

The place itself is very nice but the service is not good. Our server was not friendly at all. The day my friend and I went to this café for breakfast, there were several free tables next to the window and we would have loved to sit there to enjoy the last bit of sunshine before the end of the Summer. But the server decided otherwise, he told us we could not sit there because we were only two persons and those tables were for three. Ok. That sounded fair and we understood. But soon we realised that other similar tables (for 3 people and next to the window) had 2 and even 1 person only. When we raised it, he then said that the free tables were booked already! then came this couple that had no reservation (we knew since we had spoken briefly by the entrance door) and sat at one of those free tables and there was no problem. We felt totally discriminated. The food is also regular, or perhaps it was that the server just ruined our good mood and high spirit. We left feeling very dissatisfied and disappointed. What a waste of opportunity to make your clients happy so that they recommend your café to friends and family and keep coming back for the friendly service and excellent food....

I have been here before several times as it is conveniently located in the middle of the 7th district. Food is always amazing and also the atmosphere is great to meet friends but also have business meetings.

However the last experience was very disappointing- we had a reservation for table of 3 at 10:00. When entering, there was already a queue of people waiting for a table - the cafe was fully booked. 2 waiters were busy running around, serving tables another one was standing behind the counter not giving a single efff if people were waiting. Only when we asked he said, if u have a reservation, just go around the tables and check where ur name is. Once seated the service mayhem continued - not utterly motivated or friendly, very confusing/rambling when we asked what we would like to order and very slow. At one point all 3 waiters were standing behind the counter, chatting (which is absolutely fine) but there were seemingly guests who wanted to pay or order. First, we waited at the entrance for a long time without anyone attending to us. Then we had to call someone over, and they reluctantly came. The waitstaff were rude and inattentive. There were plenty of empty tables, but they made us wait a long time to be seated—no practical thinking at all. Anyway, we finally sat down, but the inside was cold. The place is nice, but it was genuinely cold inside, and we felt chilly.
