Sofra — Restaurant in Vienna

We had such a wonderful late lunch at Sofra! It’s a charming, tiny spot with only a few tables — we were lucky to get one for two. The food was absolutely outstanding! The ćevapčići were perfectly juicy and flavorful, and the freshly homemade bread was simply out of this world. You can truly taste the love and care in every bite.

The service was just as delightful — kind, welcoming, and attentive. The cozy atmosphere and the view into the kitchen through the glass wall make the whole experience feel even more personal and authentic.

Nun schon einige Balkan Grillrestaurant ausprobiert, diesmal Sofra bei einer Aktion von Lieferando. Das Lokal war mir bereits über Social Media und YouTube bekannt, große Auswahl, aber diesmal einfach Mal die altbekannten Cevapi im Lepinjabrot bestellt, 10 Stück mit Ajvar (sehr mild) und Kajmak als Extra, dazu Sopska- und Krautsalat. Das Brot war leider bei Ankunft ziemlich zerfetzt, da hatml man leider bei Tasche schneiden etwas durchgeschnitten, darin lagen die 10 Stück Cevapi und darunter etwas Zwiebel, wirklich wenig Zwiebel, war ich von der Konkurrenz anders gewöhnt. Auch was die Cevapi betrifft, ich habe noch nie so kleine Mini-Cevapi gesehen wie diese, von der Fleischmenge waren das bei anderen Restaurants vielleicht 3-4 Cevapi, hier waren es 10 kleine faschierte "Kügelchen", die beinahe etwas an Kottbular von Ikea erinnert haben, wobei diese bei Ikea auch doppelt so groß sind.

Darum war ich schon etwas enttäuscht, denn selbst 10 Stück haben gerade Mal die Hälfte des Brotes ausgefüllt.

Denke man sollte sich da doch ein Beispiel an diversen anderen Grillrestaurants nehmen, geschmacklich waren die Cevapi ja ganz okay. In Kombination mit dem frischen Kajmak und dem paprikalastigen Ajvar ein guter Snack, finde man könnte den Ajvar ruhig noch etwas pikanter machen.

Wie gesagt, war ich von der Portionsgröße etwas enttäuscht, da preislich gleich zu anderen Grillrestaurants, diese aber locker das doppelte an...

Wanted to try Balkan food for the first time and it was super good. The Cevapi and Kajmak was meaty and creamy without being too salty, loved it!! We also got the Balkan burger which had a very yummy cheese, sauce, meat, and satisfying fries.

I really appreciated that the burek was also warm and the outside was crispy.

The staff were very kind and offered us a hot spinach and cheese burek for us to try, and an apple pie since we were celebrating a birthday!...
