Summer Stage — Restaurant in Vienna

A place to be avoided by those who appreciate good service and civility.

On the evening of November 20, 2022, (Last Night) I was invited as a musician to participate in a jam session. I had already participated once. I had consumed four beers and decided not to drink anymore, as I was going to drive afterward. While waiting for the last song to end before going on stage, I was making some notes on my phone when I was surprised by a visibly upset man, who abruptly approached the table saying that I should get out of there.

It took me a few seconds to understand what was happening, when his other two friends also put their hands on the table.

At that moment, I was pushed away from the table in an absolutely rude manner.

When I asked the reason for such aggressivity, he told me that I was sitting in his seat. He simply replied, identifying himself as the owner of that bar and said that the table was his, that the bar was his, and that the table was reserved for him all night (there was no reservation sign).

I am here reporting this sad episode, so that perhaps this does not happen again to other people. In my case, I was there to bring music and joy to...

This review is for Summer Stage “Pancho” only! If you really want to have a low quality, greasy but yet an expensive meal. This spot is for you! There are numerous ways to waste money on your leisure but please do yourself a favor and try somewhere else. Food tastes like crap but priced as gold. I could not even finish my burger, it tasted bad. My order for coke came so long after my appetite was gone and meal was over. I asked the waiter to cancel the order but instead received a rude response. Well courtesy is not the forte in Vienna’s culinary service culture..however after my request to the waiter another “responsible” looking person behind the bar came all the way with a come in hand to defend the idiocy of “a drink delivered half an hour after Im done with the food is not so late” argument. It is a pooling of different restaurants from Vienna who cook in an open-air kind of place. It is located directly at the canal so you can run away from the summer heat in the city. It is great to sit there in the evening, drinking some cocktails and enjoying good food and sometimes live music. The restaurants vary from typical Austrian to Chinese, Irish, Caribbean or Italian cuisine. The prices are a little bit high but the atmosphere is too great to whine about that.
