I recently had lunch at Tiffin Daily Spice in Vienna’s 7th district and was pleasantly surprised. It's a small, no-frills Indian eatery with a cozy interior and a simple summer terrace, perfect for a laid-back meal.
I started with samosas and onion bhaji — both were crispy, well-seasoned, and freshly made. For the main course, I had chicken tikka masala with garlic naan and basmati rice. The sauce was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice. Portions were generous and reasonably priced at around €12–14, with extras like raita and lime included.
Their menu has a good range of options — from mild dishes like palak paneer to spicy vindaloo, plus tandoori items and hearty biryani. I also ordered a mango lassi, which was refreshing and helped balance the spice.
The staff were friendly and attentive. Service was quick, and they clearly cook everything fresh each day. The atmosphere is relaxed, and it's a great place for a casual meal with honest, flavorful food.
If you're looking for solid Indian cuisine in Vienna without the crowds or fuss, Tiffin Daily Spice is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be coming back to try their...
Read moreWe walked in today. We did not know what to expect. The ambiente was very modest. We’ve seen places like this before where one never knows what is going to end up on the table. We ordered five different curries between the 3 of us + naan bread which was made freshly before us. We ended up waiting some half an hour on the food, but then…. WOW 😍 we started to eat and did not stopp until everything was literally washed clean. In that simple ordinary atmosphere we got the most authentic Indian food ever (and we travel a lot!). Like the food you can only explicitly get in India and not in every Indian place either. Absolutely fantastic!!! Also, the service was super friendly and helpful. Thank you so much to all the hard-working staff in there🙏. Keep up the great job, we will...
Read moreAfter putting my clothes in a laundromat, I wanted to have a quick dinner before returning within 10pm to collect my clothes before the laundromat would close. This Indian restaurant was two blocks away. It was late in the night and they were almost closed. I ordered palak paneer (came with rice) and a roti. In an Indian-style circular and compartmentalized metal meal plate, they served palak paneer in the main big portion, and small quantities of some mango sauce and rice. So, the roti is necessary, the rice is not enough. The palak paneer was excellent! They cook in an open-kitchen right by the side of the dining place. The paneer is fried first before they add in the palak puree. This gave the entire dish a very distinct nice...
