Vienna’s Best Spanish Tapas | Toma Tu Tiempo 🇪🇸🍤

The interior of this place is absolutely stunning, and the outdoor terrace is equally charming, adorned with beautiful string lights. It's always quite full here, so making a reservation is a must (you can easily do so online). While the service was okay, it was a bit slow – we had to wait quite a while for the menu (about 20 minutes). However, the food more than made up for it. There's a wide variety of drinks available, including Alhambra beer from Granada. The manchego cheese was quite good, especially paired with the quince jelly, which was exceptional and complemented it perfectly. The "Mojo verde & pan" was a standout dish, with the herb-garlic dip being absolutely perfect. The "Pimientos de Padrón" were on the milder side, but well-seasoned and enjoyable. Although the Fried Artichoke Hearts with Truffle Oil-Balsamic Dressing were good, I probably wouldn't order them again. The "Setas al ajillo" (Mushrooms) were my ultimate favorite – they were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of tenderness and seasoning. I find myself randomly reminiscing about them. The "Gambas al ajillo" were quite okay, although not particularly memorable. Overall, I was very impressed – definitely one of my top two favorite tapas spots in Vienna.

The atmosphere at this tapas spot is truly delightful – from the beautifully decorated interior to the cozy terrace adorned with string lights, it’s the kind of place that instantly makes you want to linger. It’s understandably popular, so reserving a table online is a good idea. While the service could have been a bit more attentive (we waited quite a while just to get the menu), the overall vibe and presentation of the dishes helped make up for it. Food-wise, there were some real highlights: such as the spinach croquettes and the "Setas al ajillo", which were perfectly done – tender, flavorful, and the kind of dish you remember days later. That said, the portions are quite small, and if you're really hungry, be prepared to order several dishes – which quickly adds up. It ended up being a rather expensive meal for what you get, so while I enjoyed the experience, it's definitely more of a treat-yourself place than a casual dinner spot.

I went to this bar many years ago for the 1st tiem and thought it's a place that wont survive if the only food you can order is the olives and chorizo. They developed a kitchen and seems to be popular. I have gone 3 times within a short time lately. 2 of them with no reservation. As they said that we could sit on a table for 2 hours, we accepted it, as we had not booked. But today we had booked and after 1:30 hours white still ordering drinks, they reminded us about the remaining 30 minutes of the booking. I could not believe it that in spote of srill eating, drinking, ordering more and being called a "tapas bar" –which is actually a place to stay with friends, order food and drinks and chat taking it easy and not a place where the tables are given for the duration of only 2 hours! Moreover, this place is called "Toma tu tiempo", which means "take your time"....
