Very solid food stall with no pretenses. Lovely interiors with vibrant colors and neatly decorations complimented by good Mexican music. The menu had a nice cartoon style and was easy to ready, options broad but never confusing or needlessly overwhelming. Food was definitely up par with such interiors: I tried their burritos and quesadillas and I was absolutely satisfied. They were both served with extra spicy sauce and salad sauce on the side, which is always a welcome addition. Burritos were good but not exceptionally good: the shell was cooked to perfection but the filling was mostly rice and rice on its own even if spiced and cooked to perfection can only go so far. Quesadillas were the stars of the show: juicy, tasty and with a nice pulling cheese. The tortilla was cooked crispy and nice, the filling was tasty and the pulled beef from the quesabrosa (?) had a satisfying bite. All in all a nice place to visit from time to time and a solid choice as a regular weekend eatery spot for those who live in the same...
Read more[In the voice of George Carlin] 'I hated my experience here. And I don’t mean “mildly disappointed” or “could’ve been better.” I’ve had some really bad Latin American food in Vienna. But this place wins. The gold medal in mediocrity.' Their fish tacos tasted like nothing. Not “subtle” or “delicate”—just nothing. Like someone cooked a memory of a fish taco. The white sauce they slopped on top was bland and useless. When I ask for salsa, they handed me some red liquid that tasted half ketchup and half chili. I still don't know what it was. But the most kicker of all kickers: they used flour tortillas. For tacos. That’s just wrong. Flour tortillas are for burritos. Everyone knows that. And all this is wrapped up in a restaurant decked out to look authentic, but with none...
Read moreTruly mexican hidden gem in Leopoldau. I tried the beef burrito: slow cooked beef, rice, corn, salad and the spicy and cream salsas to your service. The burrito was huge and you feel really full after, so that makes sense to share it or maybe finish it for dinner! You can taste the freshness of the ingredients and feel how tender the meat is. Even being that big, I never got tired of its flavours.
I also had their homemade lemonade which was refreshing and with a controlled sweetness.
I will definitely come back to try their tacos that seem to be the star of the show and I will be updating the review then. The place was surprisingly quiet, so I would say it is an excellent option to have dinner there or to take away to the near...
