My collegaues and I found ourselves in this place by accident over lunch because our favourite restaurant on the same street is temporarily closed. Two of us ordered positions from the Lunch menu and two others something from the regular menu.
The food was ok, but definitely not worth a visit. It was too salty and the curry chicken was too watery. The vegetables looked a bit sad and old.
At the end, we had an unpleasant surprise because we were charged ca 4€ more in total for the positions from the Lunch menu. The waitress justified this by the fact that we “only” said we wanted the curry chicken from the board outside (which stated “Lunch menu”) and didn’t explicitly add the sentence “Lunch menu” while ordering. There was no information on the board about what else comes with the curry chicken (starters/desserts/drinks?).
Overall, we found that this restaurant is not customer-friendly and not fair. We tried to explain the situation to the waitress but she wouldn’t listen. We...
Read moreThis restaurant is okay—not great, but not bad either. Having eaten at several Vietnamese restaurants, I can definitely say, as have others in reviews for this establishment, that it doesn't taste authentic. Instead, it feels like Vietnamese-inspired food that is very westernized and employing big kitchen practices rather than offering genuine restaurant quality.
For example, my partner ordered a noodle soup, and it was quite apparent that this was just a Maggi bouillon with a standard off-the-shelf dehydrated noodle package, topped with some vegetables. This is not a condemnation per se, since while it wasn't cheap, it also wasn't expensive, especially for Vienna.
That's why I still give it 4 stars—the staff was super friendly, and in the end, the food was delicious, just not what I was expecting. Given it's supposed to be a Vietnamese restaurant, it just rang different bells for me, leading to certain expectations that...
Read moreThe dining experience at the Vietnamese restaurant was truly delightful. The homely atmosphere added a charming touch, although the decor seemed a bit dated, the genuine efforts were evident. The homemade Pho Bo was absolutely exquisite, offering a rich and flavorful broth that stood out. The appetizers were superb, and the Vietnamese coffee was, as always, a must-try. While there's room for improvement, especially in the ambiance, the dedication to creating delicious dishes...
