Great Wall — Restaurant in Baku City

If I could rate this place lower that would have been even a fairer rate. The quality of food, atmosphere, service has sharply deteriorated over the last year. Today I clearly understood this was the last time I visited this place. Food tasted unrecognizably bad - unsalted dumplings, inedible meat filling, awfully tasting Kung pao chicken, Pekin duck with wrong type of onions and cheap diluted sauce. I could make endless description of various meals that we ordered today but I think I've written enough. When we noted that it's a wrong type of onion which is inedible with the duck, we were offered to pay 1AZN for the right type of onions. They admitted that it was spring onions that should have been served but that did not stop them from making such an insulting offer to charge extra fees to their customers for making the right serving. Definitely not what I expected, the spring rolls and fried wanton were awful and without any trace of authenticity, especially the wantons. Tasted like fried qutab - horrible. The shrimp noodles lacked shrimps and the noodles were not cooked properly. We also had two chicken dishes and egg fried rice that were nice. The restaurant ambience and design was pleasant and clean. You ever tried eating fried rice with chopsticks on a plate, does not work. They need larger sized eating bowls. I used to go to Great Wall during 2014 to 2018 and the food was super, now it is mediocre and there are better Asia restaurants at better costs. Hands down the worst meal I have ever had. Couldn't even eat it. Ordered spring rolls for a starter, spicy chicken and French fries. Waited a long time, spicy chicken came first. All I can say is there was no chicken. It looked like someone had smashed a chicken carcass with the back of an axe. All bones, zero meat. Eventually the spring rolls turned up made from puff pastry and what looked like veg peelings. Disgusting. Had to then ask for French fries again which were undercooked. We complained and the owner offered 25% discount and tried to blame the new staff who she kept telling us she was only paying 15 manat a day. I would never return here, or recommend it to anyone. Owners should be ashamed...
