Matbakh Restaurant — Restaurant in Baku City

Had dinner here twice in three days because our hotel is nearby and also because the food is amazing.

The staff speak minimal English and do not have English menu so it’s almost “omakase” style. On the first day, a lady staff recommended us some dishes and they all turned into to be really good. We had lamb chops kebab, Greek salad and Georgian dumplings.

The second night we went back, we had minced meat pide, grilled steak with local potatoes and greek salad

We had lunch here on our tour around the surrounding area of Bacu. It was a mediocre meal and very expensive. The staff were efficient but there was no style or love of the job that we have come to know in other restaurants in Bacu. I wouldn't recommend this place. Maybe if we had just walked in off the street it may have been better. I don't know if being on a tour and the stop being prearranged affected...

We visited Matbakh Restaurant late in the evening with my cousin because it was one of the few places still open. Even though the kitchen was about to close, the waiter welcomed us warmly and took great care of us. We really appreciated the friendly service and hospitality.
