This hotel is such a gem. It’s cosy, comfortable, and SUCH vibe. Here are some of the things I loved:||Room: My room was perfectly sized — not super large but ample space for my luggage to be opened and spread out, and for my things. The beds were comfy, and there were two comforters since it was the winter. There was a mini fridge, a kettle, a TV, teacups and tea sachets, water bottles, towels, and basic toiletries. ||The bathroom had heated floors, a hot rack, a bidet, and a Muslim shower/hygiene faucet. Hot water 24.7 with great shower pressure for washing up. The room also had its own thermostat to adjust heating/AC.||The view overlooks a park and a government building but it wasn’t too chaotic. The usual urbane sounds of traffic, people laughing and going about their day (but not noisy at night). The room also had a little balcony which was very cute. ||Staff: The staff were SO kind. Helped me with anything I needed, and provided airport transfer at a reasonable rate. They were also very kind when it came to my requests, questions, or just a polite smile and laugh at the end of a long day. ||Food: There is a restaurant and bar on the top floor which has very cosy interiors, a piano, a lounge with large cushy chairs, and tons of photos and books. The exposed brick decor and the view of the city gives the feeling of a classy pub. The food itself is delicious and there is a diverse menu. It’s also very affordable for room service. ||Location: The hotel is located splendidly — 8-10 mins leisurely paced walk to Sahil metro station and the boulevard, and 2 mins from bus stations. There are grocery stores, restaurants, banks, and other facilities in walking distance (in the same block). A Bolt cab ride to Old Town is 0.8 AZN — or a 12-15 min walk. ||Safety: It’s a very safe city and the hotel is also safely located. It’s just off the main road and there are always people around so it doesn’t get spooky. The Azerbaijan Justice Academy is also across the street which is a boosted safety reassurance. The rooms itself have secure doors and windows, and key cards for entry. There’s also a locker in the room for valuables. ||Facilities: There is an elevator in the hotel, and WiFi. Room service is...
Read moreI chose this hotel primarily for its great location near Nizami Street, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing overall. While the location is ideal, the hotel falls short in many other areas such as service, room size, and breakfast quality. The worst part of our stay was when $300 was stolen from our room while we were out. After requesting to review the security footage, we were only allowed to do so after 24 hours of waiting. The footage showed that only housekeeping staff entered the room, but when we asked for an inquiry into the matter, the hotel refused, claiming they had no proof and that it would be inappropriate to question their staff. To make matters worse, the manager did not address our concerns in person despite our complaint. They simply refused to investigate further. While the hotel may try to argue that the money was never in the room to begin with, I know exactly where I left it, and the lack of proof shouldn’t invalidate my experience. They also recommend using the in-room safe for valuables, but it's worth noting that the hotel holds a key to the safe, rendering it useless for safeguarding your belongings. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone—whether friends, family, or even strangers. The lack of accountability and poor response to a serious issue left me thoroughly...
