Stopped by Rum Runners for some drinks and lunch at Port Lucaya Marketplace for a trip off the Margaritaville at Sea cruise early January. What a great stop! The bar had such a fun beachy vibe, great outdoor seating, and an awesome bartender - JR - who was pretty much doing everything for quite a crowd! Drinks are so reasonably priced and made strong and delicious - and the food was solid. Can definitely recommend their flagship drink the Rum Runner and the Mojito. Generously received an extra drink and free shots just for being friendly with the staff and celebrating an anniversary - I'm sold! Free Wi-Fi! They were a bit busy so service was a tiny bit slow (not enough staff, but JR was a rockstar and everything was totally worth a small wait). Beware that there are a lot off bees roaming around the bar due to the sweet syrups and all - otherwise all told great bargain and great time!

Rum Runners Bar is a must-visit if you're in the Port Lucaya area. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with great service that makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The staff are friendly, attentive, and clearly love what they do. The drinks are excellent—strong, well-mixed, and perfect for cooling down on a warm Bahamian day. Whether you're into classic cocktails or tropical specialties, there’s something for everyone. One of the most fun and unique parts of Rum Runners is the tradition of stapling your home currency with a note to the bar walls or ceiling. It’s such a cool way to leave your mark and see where other visitors have come from around the world. Whether you’re stopping by for a drink, some laughs, or just to take in the vibe, Rum Runners is a fun and memorable experience you’ll want to come back to.

I used to come pretty often into Freeport and the last time I was here was 2013!! Pretty scary to realize how much time has gone by. BUT, RR was always the spot I’d down to for some laughs and a drink. Terrence is always with the smile behind the counter mixing up surprises. Always recommend coming here I did see a couple of new spots in Lucaya but, nothing like this little spot with a nice vibe.

Last night I was at RR and ordered a drink. I was DD and only wanted one. I ordered and tried to give the bartender my master card but he said he would have to charge my card $20 minimum even though my drink was only $10.16. I gave him my card thinking MAYBE I would get another. I didn’t have cash. At the end of the night I didn’t want anymore so I asked for them to charge my card the $10. They said no and refused to give me my card back. I said I didn’t have cash. I went to take my card back and the bartender pulled it away and began to tug of war with me and said if I wanted my card I would have to talk to the owner. The owner argued with me and told me the minimum was $20. In the end I had to get my friend to pay for my drink with cash. It was a horrible experience. I felt intimidated and helpless not knowing what to do. The owner was totally unwilling to be flexible and let me go get cash. These establishments have so many customers from abroad. They need to accept all credit cards and cash no matter the amount. A $20 minimum is too much. I was there dancing all night with a big group of friends. If we weren’t there the bar would have been empty. We were the life of the party. I was so upset. I won’t go back...

We previously ordered the cracked conch two days earlier,( and loved it)and my wife and I decided to go back and have the cracked conch again,we ordered two cracked conch and two sand beers ,my order tasted a bit off from the previous night ,( was soft almost like calamari), but thought nothing of it. That night was a very rough night for me , and spent time somewhere else besides my bed!( I have a strong stomach),I later learned from two other cooks from different areas that conch has to be fresh cut and.not frozen and old and the symptoms, and texture of the conch was identified exactly to what the cooks had stated with out myself reavealing what had happened to myself. This dinner was the only thing I ate that night,my advice is to stay away from the seafoods unless you see them prepare it fresh in front of you, stick with the burgers hopefully they can't screw that up And in all fairness the $2 shots, and 2 beers...

If I could give them a negative star I would. All I can say is the waitress lied to us and changed the price so that our bill was $15.00 more than she said it would be. Then they added a 15% gratuity without asking us. I am normally a gracious and giving customer but for her behavior I did not feel she deserved a tip. The guy behind the bar would not take it off. There is no law saying you have to tip nor was there any sign or verbage indicating you had to tip. We paid it so as not to create too much of a fuss. After running our AMEX they decided they no longer wanted to take it. They told us their machine would not take AMEX even though they ran the credit card. They handed us a refund slip then asked for another card. I guess they saved a dollar that way. They were not the least bit interested in being fair to us or providing good customer service. I guess they figured they would never...
