This is a mediocre and overpriced restaurant with very little to recommend it. On a Thursday evening there were 3-4 people having dinner, and yet there was a DJ playing loud music, utterly ruining the atmosphere.
Staff were friendly but poorly trained. I had to ask for ice in my water twice, and when it finally came the waiter managed to throw an ice cube onto the table where my iPhone was sitting. A gin and tonic (which cost an outrageous amount) was brought without lime in the glass, and the waiter looked surprised when I asked for this to be brought. The food was bland and tasteless; scallops followed by steak, both came out tepid and lacking in flavour or seasoning.
The meal was rounded off with a cheese course, described on the menu as including Brie, chèvre, Stilton and sourdough bread. What arrived was an oversized plate with triangles of yellow and orange processed cheese, Jacob’s cream crackers, and some limp fruits.
This venue does not know what it wants to be: a high-end steakhouse in a luxury hotel (with prices to match) or an Ibiza-style lounge bar. There are many better and more reasonably priced steak restaurants in Bahrain, and there is really no reason for...
Read moreFood was fantastic with appropriate amount, perfect stake, beautiful presentation, and all, but the ambience was not how i envisoned to have on a Christmas dinner with my daughter and husband.
This is the second time visiting the plum. The first time was perfect for me and my husband's date night: quiet and romantic. However, the second time last night was quite the opposite (Christmas dinner). A party of 14 individuals really owned the entire resturant and created too much noise and chaos (busy).
I specifically asked if it will be crowded during that time, and if the servers are going to wear face shileds and masks. I was all assured when making the reservation, but none of them were true (only masks). I felt most insecure among all the recent resturants visits. It was just too many people (including the number of servers) in such a small restaurant during this time of Covid.
However again, food was great and interesting. Servers were so nice and tried to accommodate us as best as they could under the circumstance. I would recommend to avoid Christmas, New Years, and etc. It sure must be a...
Read moreShambolic’s. We were celebrating my mothers birthday, seemed like they were short staffed to begin with. Starters had NO SALT whatsoever & the sauce was thick enough for me to build a house with. When we were asked how was the experience we mentioned to BRIAN (the supervisor) the issues & his reply just annoyed me, it’s Plums standard not to put any salt on the food, which was total b*hit because the lobster bisque & steaks were on point. When I asked for the bill, I was informed by Brain there was a BD 20 corkage for the cake I bought. I refused to pay it cause I wasn’t informed about it & then he turned it around by saying he wouldn’t charge me like he was doing me a favour. I know The Ritz Carlton standards & this was not it. Terrible service, ok food. I will never return to Plums again. Just ruined my mom’s birthday. Suggestions please try CUT @ Four Seasons, it’s a CUT above...
