This place is overrated where food is concerned. I ordered an Americano and asked the gentleman at the counter whether they make the coffee with Nescafe or actual coffee beans and at first he had no clue what I was talking about. So he talked to a colleague and came back to the table to tell me that they make it with beans. So I ordered one. At first it did not taste quite right(I would know, I drink enough coffee a day to keep the city awake for two weeks) but I did not pay much mind because I was too busy chatting with my friend but then I ordered the second one and noticed that both times they brought me my coffee within a matter of 2 minutes(it takes longer to make espresso shots with beans). So the third time I ordered it, I got up and went to the counter and let them know that the coffee tastes weird and that I'd like to see how they make these espresso shots(mind you I was talking in English this whole time and so they were under the impression that I don't speak Bengali). As I was standing there one waiter said to the barista "bean die banan aibar. Dekhar jonno daray ase" and so I just heard that and went back to my table to my friend because the food was of very little importance in this instance. Having said all this, the third cup they brought me tasted like actual coffee. So if you are looking for a place to eat tasty food, this is not your place but it's a great place to sit and talk(like most restaurants in...

Read moreWent to Barcode with a group of 8 and had a fairly good time overall. The place has a clean, relaxed vibe — nothing over the top, but perfect for a casual group meal.
We ordered a bunch of dishes, including their popular “RIP Diet”. I’ve had it before and remembered it being rich, moist, and super satisfying. Unfortunately, this time it felt dry and stale, like it had been sitting around too long. Still good enough to share, but definitely not as impressive as it used to be.
The Beef Pasta Bolognese was great — flavorful and nicely done. The chicken broast also hit the mark: crispy, juicy, and well-seasoned. We tried a couple of desserts too, and those were actually pretty good.
The Thai clear soup was the only real letdown — bland broth and the chicken had an odd smell.
One thing that bugged us a little: our server seemed professional, but the way he took our order felt a bit rushed. We barely had time to look through the full menu before being asked to decide, which wasn’t ideal for a group trying to order different things.
Still, Barcode is a decent spot if you’re looking for variety and chill group vibes. Hopefully next time the service and food are...
