This restaurant is one of the finest dining spots in Cox’s Bazar and truly stands out for its elegance and quality. The overall atmosphere is refined, making it an excellent choice for both casual dining and special occasions. While the prices are slightly on the higher side, the food quality and service justify the cost to a great extent. They also charge an additional 5% as a service fee, but in return, the staff provide polite, attentive, and well-mannered service, which adds to the overall dining experience.
On our first day, we visited for lunch and ordered Rupchanda fish, which turned out to be incredibly tasty and well-cooked. Along with it, we tried several varieties of vorta. The alu vorta was easily one of the best we’ve ever had, perfectly seasoned and delicious. The peyaj morich vorta was very spicy but still enjoyable for spice lovers, while the pach mesali vorta did not quite live up to expectations. Still, the vorta items overall were impressive. We paired these with vat (rice) and dal. Although the dal cost 100 taka, it was flavorful and well worth it. The lunch felt pricey, but the taste and quality gave it a luxurious touch.
On the second day, we returned for dinner. This time we ordered alu vorta, peyaj morich vorta, duck curry, and rice with dal. The duck was priced at 480 taka for two pieces, but the taste was exceptional and memorable.
Our total bill for lunch came to 1,070 taka, and dinner was 1,020 taka. While slightly expensive, the quality and experience make it a must-visit restaurant in Cox’s Bazar. Many guests from Sayeman Hotel, Ramada Hotel, and Best Western Heritage also dine here, which shows its reputation. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a tasteful and...
Read moreDuring my visit to Palongki Restaurant in Kolatoli, I appreciated the lovely location and comfortable air-conditioned ambiance, which provide a relaxing setting with beautiful views. The restaurant showcases authentic Bengali cuisine, and some dishes like local prompet fry and traditional jilapi have been well-received by diners for their genuine flavors. While the prices tend to be on the higher side compared to similar local eateries, this reflects the premium location and effort in food preparation. Portions may be modest, but the opportunity to enjoy food with a clean and near kolatoli atmosphere can make the overall experience enjoyable.Service at times can be improved in terms of responsiveness, but the staff generally aims to ensure a pleasant visit. Some patrons have noted variability in food quality, yet there are highlights among the menu that appeal to lovers of regional cuisine.Palongki is ideal for those prioritizing ambiance and a chance to savor authentic flavors near the sea. With attention to pricing expectations and a focus on favorite dishes, it can offer a nice balance of atmosphere and taste.Overall, Palongki Restaurant offers a charming dining experience complemented by its location and Bengali culinary touches, making it a worthwhile visit for those seeking a coastal meal with cultural flavours with batel ...
Read moreThis particular spot doesn’t deserve the hype. The management was not able to give us our reserved table even though we made a deposit beforehand. We had to wait 25-30 minutes to sit with our whole family of 16 including babies and elderly parents who had problem standing up for too long. Secondly, the table we got had no AC or table fans, the heat was unbearable and we asked them repeatedly to bring us one of the fans that wasn’t being used on another table, but after 7 or 8 times, they haven’t done it. As a result of that, we got into a heated argument with another customer who just came in and wanted to hog the fan for themselves and asked one of the waiters to face it towards them. When we told the waiters not to do that (since the fan doesn’t rotate), the other customer got angry and made a bad comment about one of our family members which led to an altercation, this whole debacle was to due to the mismanagement of the restaurant. Thirdly, the food. We had to wait almost an hour to receive any food which we also ordered when we made the deposit earlier, the Aloo bhorta was mediocre to say the least, the chicken was okay at best 6/10 maybe, the Rupchanda was decent 7/10, then the Loitta Fry came at the very end when most us almost finished eating.
Overall, the whole experience was very bad. Never going to that...
