If you're craving authentic Turkish flavors in the heart of Dhaka, Istanbul Restaurant is a fantastic choice. The cozy ambiance, attentive staff, and traditional Turkish décor create a welcoming environment that complements the dining experience. The food is undoubtedly the star of the show. Their mixed grill platter is packed with flavor—succulent, well-seasoned meats that truly reflect Turkish culinary excellence. The lavash bread is soft and fresh, the hummus rich and creamy, and the baklava offers a perfectly sweet finish. One area for improvement, however, is the pricing. While the food quality is high, the menu is on the pricier side compared to similar restaurants in the city. That said, the overall experience makes it worth it if you're looking for an occasional treat or special night out. Highly recommended for lovers of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine who don’t mind spending a bit extra for quality.

It’s a family kind restaurant located near to the Gulshan - 2 circle. As far I know that it’s one of the oldest restaurants that serve mainly Turkey style foods. The place is in the medium range. Reservation is not mandatory but you can call them for reservation. The taste of the food is not bad but also not too delicious. The food is good until it’s hot. If the food gets cold, it doesn't taste good anymore. The pizza was too tasty for us, I'll recommend these items. The behavior of the staff is also good. Here, cash & card both payment systems are acceptable. No wheelchair accessibility facilities are presented here.

I live in Europe and I know the taste of Turkish food very well. This restaurant's food is nowhere close to them. Their meat is totally burnt out and dry, they don't put any sauce. I don't know how someone could make rice so dry and it's nowhere close to Turkish bulgur. We took one platter, one pizza (original name of which is Pide), one doner sandwich (it's an insult to the original döner kebab), one kunefe, costed us ~4200 taka, where service charge and vat was ~1000 taka. I would recommend going to a hotel beside street for bangladeshi kabab than wasting money here.

We had the mixed meze, baba ganoush, doner durum, grilled fish, baklava, kunafa, revani, and ayran.

Mixed meze, to be honest, is like a mashed assortment. It's like the Bengali bhorta. What resembles mashed tomatoes, sour yoghurt, eggplant mash, etc. are served with bread. Baba ganoush tastes just like the Bengali mashed brinjal.

Doner durum is beef and lamb wrapped with some other ingredients in bread, noteworthy of which is french fries. You must try some kind of doner if you come here.

The grilled fish here is served with fries, boiled vegetables, and a sauce reminiscent of that sour curd again. There was nothing special about this dish, and it was definitely overpriced.

Ranked according to sweetness, baklava
